Fight Beet (Carlos Guzman's roley poley ass ;) ) has just learned that WBC Intercontinental Mundo Hispano Welterweight Champion "El Gato" Francisco Figueroa has just accepted a title challenge from Bronx rival Joey Rios. This fight will take place at MSG on the undercard of Klitschko-Barrett. When asked why this fight happened, "El Gato" responded:
"Joey's people wanted him to take a step up. Man, they picked the wrong guy"
Although Gato was somewhat inactive in 2006, in 2005 he had an explosive year knocking out all three of his opponents and capturing the New York State Light Welterweight Title.
The popular Joey Rios has an excellent record of 14 wins 0 loses, and 6KO's. Rios' last bout was an impressive TKO win over Pablo Ibanez of Tennessee.
Currently the champion is in Miami, Florida where he has completed his cardio program and is now going to the gym for sparring.
"The fight is still 4-weeks away and I'm already at weight!" said Figueroa. Unfortunately he rejected my plea of a midnight run to Wendys.
welll here i am fresh in the blood ask me anything you want wheather it for me or against me i love to interact with people about me or my career and by the way my loses help me out not because I suck but because of robbery and inexperience. but hey we all know what happen nov 11 at the garden and that should of been a ud but hey md not bad neither
Its ethic cleasning time...Rivera-Santos, Cotto-Quintana, Oquendo-Ruiz, Collazo-Rivera, Stark vs Mario ect
Joey Rios will win..
You crazy, Figueroa is way too skilled for Rios, I'm picking Franky by decision.
