Do you like Jim Lampley's commentating?

The HBO crew used to be good, but malaise is setting in badly. Anyone remember the days when Larry sounded like he actually gave a fuck? Hell, does anyone remember the last time Larry sounded sober? Maybe during Hopkins-Trinidad ... and before that ... maybe McCallum-Curry. Agree with the other posters who are pro-Teddy Atlas. Regardless of his faults or his palooka-like accent, at least he is objective and managed to keep his mouth away from the wedding tackle of his favorite fighters, whoever they might be.

FUCK!!!! teddy atlas....that motherfucker never shuts the fuck up. he just doesn't stop talking....when the action is high and someone is about to get ktfo he doesn't call the punches, he just keeps trying to get his half baked, philisophical bullshit points across as if it's some complicated science and we couldn't understand it the first out out of the five times he's mentioned it. Simple question. yes, no fight is the same without it. He might say the stupidest shit sometimes but he brings the best out in a fight.

I'll take Lampley over the entire Showtime or BAD crew. He may be a cheerleader at times but he can make a great fight more exciting.

Since Lampley left his daughter to fend for herself during the Bowe-Golota Riot I have lost all respect for him. He went and saved himself and then remember at the end of the telecast about her. I like Atlas, more integrity.

Meh Lampley and Merchant both piss me off. I miss Geroge Foreman he used to punk both them fools.

Lampley is cool, its Larry Merchant I cant stand anymore. He reaks of alcohol and his speach is deteriorating.

I picked no because he has been dropping off steadily for years now......he does a good job but I hate how off he has been with his "huge lefts" and "big right hands" lately.

For the most part I like him, but sometimes his bias for the HBO house boys clouds his objectivity and makes him unbearable to listen to. The two Hopkins-Taylor fights were perfect examples of this, as he cheerleaded so hard for Taylor that I thought he was going to break out the pom-poms.

Jim Lampley is my favorite commentator of all time. What he does is he makes the sport fun. He is to my opinion the greatest commentator to ever wear the headset.

I never realized how completely unintelligent Lennox Lewis was. This guy is A grade a moron. But it's so bad it's hilarious. "Definately, great basketball players are...great basketball players." Thumbs up for Lampley except in anything dealing with Jermaine Taylor.

Lampley can be biased at times, but he still the man. And as much of a legend Larry Merchant is, he needs to go...
