Best Damn Boxing PPV::
Evander Holyfield vs. Fres Oquendo, heavyweights.
Co-feature: Oscar Diaz vs. TBA, welterweights.
Special attraction: Julio Cesar Garcia vs. TBA, junior middleweights
(Fox Sports PPV - 11/10/06).
lol, what a joke... please, no one go buying this...
$25 yes. No way in hell I'll buy this fight for not even $35
for me, $25 is even a stretch. and that's for what, 3 fights?
please people, do not buy this!!!!
we do not need the clowns making enough money to think that they can keep putting together ppv cards like this. there's not even a title fight on the card!
really? 50 dollars for this shit house boxing card. i mean, holyfield and oquendo as the main event. hell no! i wouldn't pay 50 kuai for this let alone $50 US.
and those best damn sporting events suck anyways. no way in hell i would pay to watch one.
for 25 I would be all over it just to see it ya know and fres is a very good pick for holy to step up agienst

I read somewhere that this fight is priced at $ 44.95, like that's a big difference!
But, I'm honestly considering buying this ppv because this maybe one of Holyfield's last professional fights before he retires. Holyfield has given boxing fans alot of great fights over the years and hopefully this one proves to be just as exciting.
C'mon, where's all the love for Holyfield?
Yeah, if this was on regular FSN, fine, and I'd give them kudos for an entertaining night of boxing. But asking for 50 bucks for this is ludicrous. Whoever had the idea to make it PPV is a moron in the first place, even if it was just 20 bucks. This is less than a week after PBF-Baldomir and just a week before Pac-Morales III. Between those two fights, roughly 800k people will be spending at least 50 bucks and probably about 200k will buy both and be out 100 bucks, right before the Christmas shopping season. How many people are going to pick this crap over either of the HBO PPVs? Nobody with a sane mind.
IDIOTIC programming. HBO even wanted to move a December 2 PPV because it was too close to the Nov.4 and Nov. 18 shows. This is right smack in between, and FSN will take a bath on this. Holyfield may sell tickets, but no way he still sells $50 PPVs fighting Oquendo with two noncompetitive showcase fights on the undercard.
Well said, couldn't have said it any better. If people are anywhere like me, in which you are comfortable but not filthy rich then you wont buy every single PPV out there.
I spend about $100-$150 max a month on ppv fights (Boxing or MMA) and I just dont think I'll waste my money on this fight.

I am very glad that The Best Damn Sports Show Period is affiliating itself more heavily with boxing, because it gives boxing another link to the mainstream, but I think Holyfield will get badly beaten, and neither of these guys at this point are even top 15 contenders, so a PPV is ridiculous.

Buy it? I don't expect I'll be interested enought to watch a free download, unless something very unusual happens.
That is a ridiculous price for his card. It's barely FNF material.
I would like to see Holy v Oquendo because I think it's about the right step up for Holy to see if Bates was just too easy to keep a high workrate with. Oquendo, assuming he hasn't faded badly, will give Holyfield a good fight.
All that said, I wouldn't pay to see it.

If its under 309 bucks then alot of ppl will buy it cause like it or not holyfield is still a big name.
to each his own, I grew up watching holy and will continue to do so but not for 50 bucks however. Not only that but fres does have some fans and they would pay to see him and not just holy. Also if the undercard materializes it could be a good show.
I loved watching the Real Deal also especially his trilogy with Bowe however I think that he is doing himself a disservice by still fighting and I just dont think that he can be truly competitive anymore. Remember when he was falling everywhere against JT?
The outcome just doesn't really effect the HW division and just isn't inticing enough for me to waste one of my 2 monthly ppv buys on.
I but anywhere from 2----sometimes 3 ppv's a month depending on how good a lineup there is and I would rather use one of those on another card.
They are only doing this because the ratings for the last holyfield fight were probably AMAZING. tons of fans and nonfans alike watched that fight. they sold 15,000 seats!!!!!!
they bet if they go PPV, they'll sell okay and earn a ton of doe. good business decision, terrible for the fans. i might buy it if they lower the price, which i bet they will
like I said Kfoot if it is for 25 bucks and a undercard materializes I will have no regrets for buying it.
