just been wondering this for awhile. Are you supposed to have 1-2g of protein per pound of bodyweight or kilogram? to me, per kg seems more reasonable, especially for boxers. What do you guys think? weightlifters/powerlifters usually say per lb of bodyweight...
College Nutrition Instructors say:
For The Sedentary person (somebody who exercises very little or none at all): 0.8g of protein/kilogram of body weight
For Strength Athletes: 1.7-1.8g of protein/kilogram of body weight
For Endurance Athletes: 1.1-1.2g of protein/kilogram of body weight
hoped that helped a little.
depends on what you are trying to do, but 1 gram per lean muscle mass of your body weight is usually good...if you are trying to really pack on the weight, go up to 2 grams and take some digestive enzymes.
Use Whey Protein Powders during the day since Whey digests within 1/2-1 hr...foods take to long to digest depending what you are eating...use Casein at night time because it is a slow digestive protein.
If you want to get strong, make sure to have plenty of Fats in your diet that come from Nuts, and especially Olive Oil is great...Fats are best taken at night time, while Carbs are during the day.
