I think Kessler will hammer Beyer to an early stoppage but that might be a biased view, what do you think?
I figure if Sakio Bika can pepper Beyer with jabs and land, if Danny Green can catch Beyer then Kessler is going to do a big nasty job on the German. I actually can't figure out why Beyer even took the fight. Kessler is bigger, stronger, faster and has a significant punching power advantage and moves very well (he was sharp enough to easily account for Anthony Mundine even though Kessler was not 100 per cent fit). Can someone set me straight
Markus Beyer was pretty handy a few years back, seen him whupping Richie Woodhall good and even now he must have something, but I think Kessler's gonna beat him well. If Kessler's as good as they say he is.
Beyer has one weak point, but its a big one.. His punches doesn´t hurt. Kessler is gonne be all over him, his punches makes you wanna hide.
I sure hope HBO is trying to make a cash fight out of Kessler vs. Calzaghe by showing both fights.. They could both do with the competition. I ekspekt both their opponents to be run over 14/10
Beyer had to take the fight. He has often written on his german website that his goal was to be unified champ. Thus he had to take it. Especially after the Bika sleep-over.
His coach has (again in German) said that Beyer has a very big chance of beating Kessler if he follows his plan, and that his plan is one that Beyer can follow.
I think we will see a Beyer step up as he does when he is the underdog. I am certain he will come prepared as ever, I just don';t think it will be enough. Some of the fights he has stepped up in are Sanavia II, Green II and when he won the title in England. I don't think that even that version of Beyer can beat Kessler. Tough - but I don't think so... Beyer WILL come in focused etc. but it won't be enough.
There is no doubt Beyer will come prepared but i doubt even Beyer at his best will be enough to win. But Beyer can be tricky and is tactically very good (and has a good corner with Ulli Wegner) so i don't think he will be blown out in a few rounds.
Markus Beyer is by far the weakest out of all Super Middleweight title holders. I seen an interview were Joe Calzaghe was upset because Mikkel Kessler had beaten him to getting the fight with Beyer, like it was a foregone conclusion whichever one of them got there first would get their hands on the WBC belt. There is a number of contenders in that division who would give Beyer a beatdown, it's a wonder how he's kept hold of the belt for so long.
Markus Beyer is a hammering waiting to happen, and has been for years.
He will get stopped.
