I see your point, but I think that Abraham got Miranda figured out and next time they fight he will fight more defensively/countering more and just wont let Miranda score a big one.
I don't think he can fight more defensively than that. He threw like 20 punches a round. I was actually surprised, because Miranda just looked much stronger, and Abraham looked winded, and wary from the 2nd round.
I rooted for Abraham, but I honestly think he lost the fight. You can't win rounds covering up and running, and that's what he did except for the 4th round, and 15 second spurts in some of the other rounds.
The ref annoyed the shit out me through out the whole fight. When he called time there were huge pauses in the action, youd think they were making room for commecials.
Looked to me like making time for Abraham to survive...
That, of course if Abraham recovers fully both physically and psychologically.
I wish him the best since he will bring excitment to the middle weight division, but I am afraid he will never be the same fighter. With Sauerland calling the shots he was 'forced' to continue even after he said he didn't want to. He retained the belt with a warrior's heart, but I don't think he will recover fully. Physically his jaw was destroyed taking 7 more rounds of abuse. He now will have it repaired and have his jaw wired shut for months. I'm not sure medically if they can make his jaw as strong as it was, but taking a beating like that (not wanting to) and having to go through a horrible recover has to mentally wear you down. I'm not saying he will never box again, but it has to affect him mentally next time he is hurt in the ring.
Best of luck to you Abraham...
I hope the selfishness of Wilfred Sauerland did not ruin a very bright future you could have.

Yeah in the US they stop shit when somthing like that happens
I say that Miranda will beat Abraham in the 2nd fight and then we go on to a Trilogy bout with Abraham winning.
After the headbutt, the ref was ready to say 'box' and not deduct any points, but Abraham started walking to his corner. This is when all the controversy happened. First, the fighter is supposed to go to a neutral corner not his own. Eventhough the headbutt had nothing to do with the jaw or the bleeding the ref allowed the dr (actually 2 drs) to not only look at the injury, but treat the injury for 5 minutes!
Than the corner and the doctor say Abraham can't go on. The ref says OK "that's the fight". He than talks with the advisor on how to rule the fight, first they think they need to go to the scorecards. After discussing the ref agrees that since the headbutt had nothing to do with the injury that Miranda will be awarded the tko. The ref says OK TKO for Miranda. He again asks Abraham himself if he want to continue and Abraham says No and shakes his head. Someone (I think Wilfred Sauerland) screams from the audience "YES CONTINUE" and says something in German to AA.
The ref talking to the person who said 'yes' says "you want to continue?" and than looks at Abraham. Abraham shakes his shoulders as if to say 'I guess' and the ref says OK we will continue.
Unreal! Again, nothing against Abraham because he weathered out the storm and showed amazing heart. But something is very wrong about this.
The ref said "He can't go on, that's the fight" and 2 minutes later he let's Sauerland over rule him!
My opinion on the fight:
The ref controlled the fight and took Miranda's game plan away. He lost 3 points on low blows, only one was legit. The other two were clearly on the beltline. The ref made an announcement in the 5th or 6th that one more low blow and he will be disqualified. Miranda now could only punch to the upper body and head for the 2nd half of the fight knowing the ref would dq him for anything close to low. This was the start of the end for Miranda doing what he needed to do to get the win.
In the 11th when Abraham was in the worse shape and looked to be ready to fall was when the last low blow was called. This was clearly a good punch on the belt line. Abraham sold it well, and the ref called a halt in action. Abraham took a good part of the allowed 5 minutes to rest. IMO this saved him. He was able to withstand the attack in the final minute of the round and the 12th to secure the UD.
I also think the headbutt was the absolute killer for Miranda. I don't think it was intentional, but can't argue with the call. The halt in action here is what really saved Abraham though. He was given around 5 minutes of rest and the doctors worked on his injury and bleeding. The headbutt had nothing to do with the injury and Abraham should not have been allowed to receive treatment from doctors. Again, the ref allowed this to happen. If the headbutt would not have happened, I think Abraham may have been stopped since the injury would never had been treated.
I have seen many people say Miranda fought dirty. If you say that than you have not watched the fight or are just being stupid. The one true lowblow was far from intentional, just happened during action. The other 2 were clean punches. The headbutt was far from dirty even if it was considered intentional. It looked more like Miranda was just trying to pull away from being held and jerked his head hard towards Abraham not meaning use his head as a weapon.
I think Miranda won possibly 9 rounds but at least 8. Abraham might have stolen a couple of rounds by being active in the last 20-30 seconds.
Fantastic fight all together. Never seen so much blood in the ring and on the ref and fighters. If you haven't seen the fight make sure you do. Try to get a good quality copy so you can make a true judgment and hear the conversation in the 5th round when the doctor called the fight.
I hope Abraham heals well and there is a rematch in the USA on HBO for all to see.
i agree with you except for the headbutt situation.
i thought it was intentional. but 2 point deduction was too much.
Miranda destroyed Abraham.
Man I cant wait to see this fight. Sounds like a fight of the year candidate. It also sounds like there was some bias german type stuff going on. I havent even seen the fight yet so I dont know but thats how it sounds to me and it wouldnt surprise me.
5 point deductions? That just sounds a little fishy to me. Plus couldnt the rounds still be 9-9 with point deductions if Miranda was winning them? Damn I need to see this fight.
My opinion on the fight:
I was at the fight and have watched it on a high quality copy DVD that I got after the fight...

Abrahams got a chin on him,his jaw was broken and he was in der with 1 of the hardest punchers 2day,even tho his chin was hangin out and his mouth was wide open ( which would hurt even more wen he was hit ) he didnt seem 2 get hurt, hes got a chin on him
