what was the biggest display of heart you have ever seen in a fight?
for me, it was arturo gatti (of course) breaking his hand in the 4th round in his third fight with micky ward and still using it for six more rounds.
"Fatigue makes cowards of us all" -Vince Lombardi
It's terrible when you have to fight with some fatigue, let alone having very little left in the tank...you just want to lay down and go to sleep...your mind starts to tell you, "Fuck this, that mat looks like a bed, lets lay down and close our eyes"...every punch starts to hurt, even if the fighter doesn't have that much power...your body is just a mess, you feel like jellow, and you are open for a knockout.
i've never seen a better description of how it is when inbetween the 2nd and 3rd( last round for my amateur bouts) and dont wanna get up fromt he stool.
you could of just watched the first Frazier vs Foreman fight, where Joe kept getting knocked down and getting up, despite looking badly hurt and going up against GEORGE FOREMAN...
Exactly. What impressed me in that fight is Frazier was knocked down as many times as he was and after the last knockdown, which looked vicious, he got up and was ready to go for more.

Holychamp against Bowe.
He threw successive combinations of punches while totally unconscious.

Eubank in Benn I, Watson II and Thompson I deserves mention.
Benn I: Eubank had an inch gash in his tongue in the fourth round on and was swallowing pints of blood for the rest of the fight, and the next morning his ribs were bruised badly and he was urinating blood for a week due to internal damage. He couldn't digest properly either due to a damaged gut. He also took flush Benn right-handers on the chin and forehead that would of knocked out any other middleweight in the world.
Watson II: Eubank took a systematic beating in every round, and came back from the brink of death to produce an uppercut from hell. It took him over a month to recover from that fight.
Thompson I: Eubank's left eye was completely closed mid-way through the fight but he hung in there until the end against a guy much naturally bigger and stronger. He couldn't see the right hands coming over, and just took them all and kept begging the referee not to stop it.

Both Ali and Frazier in Manila. They admitted that they were very colse to death, and they both fainted shortly after the fight. This shows how much they pushed themselves and how brave they both were.
The biggest display of heart I have ever seen has to be the Corrales/Castillo I fight. Both fighters displayed tremendous heart, but Chico's determination to win that fight no matter what it took is really what got me.

There's been many, Tito-Campas, Gomez-Sanchez, Cotto-Torres, just to name a few.
Vargas vs Tito - Vargas showed great heart and determination!
Marquez vs Pacman - Knocked down 3 time sin the openin round but came back to box the ears of pacman:boxing:
Ward vs Gatti 1 - Ward neevr took a step back against the harder hitting, faster and younger Gatti!
