First, a point I"d like to make -- though the fight is NOT finalized, it looks as if it's in the works to be put together...
REGARDLESS, if the two were to fight a rematch come December, who do you think would win between the two, and by what type of result?
Bring on the predictions...
I say 116-112 Taylor. I know you might not think so but with Manny in his corner I think only good things can come of it. This rematch will show that Jermain can do what we were all told he could. I think the rematch will be more technical from both fighters opposed to the first one which had a lot more infighting. Still good fight Taylor 116-112 UD is my final decision. (With a few random people coming on still to say Wright should have won). Either way hats off to both guys for wanting to fight the best in thier division in a rematch we all want to see. Two of the best middles at the moment... (no THE two best middles atm).
The only way to defeat Winky is by throwing alot of punches Ouma style. Thus the reason he hasn't fought Ouma yet. When he fought Sam, sam was landing alot of punches thats because he was throwing alot of punches. That is the only way he can be defeated. Unless he gets caught by a bomb
Each fight made some fatal mistake in the fight.
Taylor mistake is that he does not raise his gaurd which brings Winky right jab.
Winky mistake is done more than once is that if he feels he is winning he will tend to fool around. sort of cockness in him.
Right now it depend in the fight if Taylor is at the ropes most of the round it Winkys round and if Taylor is in the middle of the ring its a Taylors round.
I give Taylor slight advantge if he wins this one he is coming to be top 5 p4p figher for sure. because for winky you cant learn an old dog new tricks. and one thing is for sure Taylor punch back up Winky so I think its either Taylor punchs are more powerful than Tito or is Winky gaurd advantge is beginning to wear down as more fight he has fought.
B-Rec has Steward listed as Taylor's trainer, so I would imagine he's still on board with Bad Intentions.
Corner advantage definitely goes to JT in this one.
Wright SD.. i'm sure Taylor will still bring it in this one, but so will Winky.. i honestly don't think Jermain will have an answer for the jab, i'll be surprised if he does (anyone know if he's still getting lessons from Steward?).. hopefully the judges get it this time.. i have faith in them if it's at the Bay...
Im a Big Winky Wright Fan.... But Taylor underestimated winkys jab, and thats what backed up taylor all night... If taylor can stop or slow down that jab then he wins, if not we'll see.
i like winky but i think stewart is goings to emphasize not leanin on the rope through his whole trainin camp.. and he needs to start at a slower pace because he seems to gas himself out often.. winky won the first fight.. but taylor will made the adjustments to win the second..
I think what gives Taylor a slight edge (aside from his raw talent) over Winky started way back in May when Taylor hired the best in the game in trainer Emanuel Steward to come in and coach him midway through his training session prior to the Winky fight.
You look at Steward, that guy is a legend, he really does have the Midas touch.
So now that the two have been working together full time from the start, you can only expect big things from Taylor.
