Jesus, open your eyes!
He's worth millions he could have been picked up in any car?
The respect issue is the fact he should have come out of prison quietly and without fuss, he should have made a humble apology for his crime without reference to how he personally had suffered, he then should have gotten into an average type car and quietly gone home.
By coming into the media circus (which is not his fault) and riding it to his advantage by walking to a Rolls Royce, a stretch Range Rover limo (Hired) and a BMW (all for one man) whilst making a tertiary comment about the victim then going on to mention how he (Hamed) has suffered is a total lack of respect for the feelings of his victim.
Remember that Hamed is not the victim in this, this guy is, I quote " In a statement, Mr Burgin expressed his shock at the decision to grant Hamed early release".
"What happened to my wife and I was deeply distressing and nearly destroyed our lives," he said.
"I am shocked that after such a serious accident Mr Hamed has been released after less than four months."
And from the media today!
FREED Naseem Hamed caused outrage yesterday by leaving jail in a fleet of swanky limos.
The ex-world featherweight champ punched the air with joy as he was released after serving just 114 days of a 15-month sentence over a 90mph crash which crippled another driver.
The boxer made just a 19-second speech which paid little regard to victim Anthony Burgin’s agony.
Then he was chauffeured home in a £280,000 Rolls-Royce Phantom — followed in convoy by a gaudy 32ft stretch Range Rover worth £180,000 and a BMW.
And the boxer’s former trainer Brendan Ingle said: “He should have come out on a donkey, said sorry and eaten humble pie. He was giving a V-sign.”
I met Naseem Hamed in 1996 in Newcastle when he defended against Daniel Alecia, I am friends with Gary McCrory (brother of Glen) and he introduced me to him, he was cocky and arrogant but there was no denying his talent so I had respect for the guy, I no longer have an once of respect for him!
Well Ok you have your opinion I have mine. The Rolls Royce, I understand to be his car. He wanted the comfort of his own car on his journey home. I heard the other ones were filled with people from his family. Like his wife and brothers etc.
What he said was pretty respectful in my eyes. I didnt think he mentioned anything about his own suffering. I read what I thought was the whole transcript and didnt see anything in there about himself... So I dunno about what you said about that.
About the media attention he got and his early release he had no bearing on those decisions... he couldnt control that. He was let out by the Home Office and he was photographed by photographers who are free to do as they please.
Btw about you meeting him... where did you meet him? Did you go to his changing room or something? Or was he just walking about.
I love the Alicea fight.... extremely exciting fight to watch.
Why did you quote me, then try and argue a completely seperate point?
When did I say that he shouldnt still be locked up...?
Penny in the autism bin for you.
And Micky, I think you are making too much of the car he goes home in. Its his Rolls Royce, he cant drive it, which is why somebody else is. At the end of the day mate, its a car. I might see your point if he drove home in a McLaren Mercedes SLR, but that is the car he owns... so thats the car he is driven home in. He left prison and served his time, that is what the judges ordered him to do. Thats his punishment... I really dont see a respect issue with driving home in a Rolls Royce.

it's not like he was just going 5 mile over the speed limit you fucking moron, he hit someone and seriously injured him. so his bitch ass should still be locked up.

you don't get extra sentence by every 5 miles you go over the limit...end of the day it was a traffic offense,in the uk most people just get a ban and a fine, unless it's death by dangerous driving then you get prison sentence, and it's normal for prisoners to get out early on a tag...
So its not a road traffic offense? So what is it?
it's not like he was just going 5 mile over the speed limit you fucking moron, he hit someone and seriously injured him. so his bitch ass should still be locked up.
Huh? That's his car... what else did you want him to go home in?
Err how about a less conspicuous car? After all he was leaving prison for half killing someone in a super car, its called tact and showing respect.
Oh and the stretch Range Rover Limos (unbelievable) were hired and followed his Rolls Royce away, so....

By the way Exige you must be the only Brit I know who is defending this prick, its not about his boxing ability its about him being an arrogant dickhead who believes he is so special that he can almost do what he likes, surely you can see that?
Do you not think it would have been more respectful if he had left prison in a less conspicuous car than a fucking Rolls Royce!
Talk about rub it in!

You don't know if thats true! Its more your opinion than fact! Also why are you so defensive and arguementative? If he logs off just take it that you've won! No need to be a stalker :bottle: ;)
No if it comes from me its fact.
And if he logs off, he blames it on "time zones" and gives me a lecture on them, like I didnt already know they existed. It was only once he done that and avoided my question, did I know I had won.
"All I gotta do is turn up and I've won".
Like I said before, thats not true.
People have been getting away with murder in this country, as far as sentencing goes. People who should be doing hard time are getting community service. I attended a court case recently (because I knew somebody who was on trial) and his supposed "friend" assisted in a robbery in which guns were used. He got 12 months community support.
Also a massive scandal blew up in this country recently in which more than 50 rapists got released from prison prematurely.
It goes on everyday... and people go on to re-offend. Ill tell you the main reason aswell. In this country we have little over 70k prison spaces. Almost all of them barr about 1000 places are taken... so they have to release people early to make room.
As far as Naseem Hamed goes, dont assume that he was let out early through his riches... its simply not the case.

It's very lenient for what he did, i believe when you get a certain sentence, you should serve it. The victims have to live with it for a much longer time, and in some cases, forever.
Yeah, im waiting for an explanation from Hitman. I wanna see him wriggle out of this one. Come on Hitman, where you gone? You realised you were wrong and I was right, as usual?
Dumb fucking American piece of shit.

DONCASTER, England -- Naseem Hamed, the former world featherweight boxing champion, was released from prison Monday after serving 16 weeks of a 15-month sentence for dangerous driving.
The 32-year-old former IBF and WBO champ was jailed in May after he injured two people -- including a man who suffered fractures to every major bone in his body -- when his car crashed head-on into two other vehicles in northern England in April 2005.
Prosecutors said Hamed was driving at least 90 mph when he crashed into the vehicles while trying to overtake a car, including a Volkswagen that Anthony Burgin and his wife were traveling in.
"My heart goes out to the victims, obviously, Mr. Burgin and his family," Hamed said after being released. "It's been hard, but nobody died."
Hamed was also banned from driving for four years.
"What happened to my wife and I was deeply distressing and nearly destroyed our lives," Burgin said. "I am shocked that after such a serious accident, Mr. Hamed has been released after less than four months."
Hamed was previously banned from driving for three months in 1995 for speeding.
The flamboyant Hamed, who boxed as "Prince Naseem," last fought in May 2002 when he was booed out of the ring after a contentious decision over Spain's Manuel Calvo in London.

Oh you can almost guarantee there have been certain dispensations made for Mr Hamed, whether or not this has led to him being let out so early is debatable but if we think he has served the same length or comfort of sentence that say an average man on the street would serve then we would be naive.
The fact that he served less than 16 weeks does highlight the lack of prison space however I'm sure there will be the odd 'community service' task around the after dinner speaking circuit within the realms of the corporate framework. There are many prison governors and politicians who frequent the likes of the Free Masons etc!
Believe me it happens, Mickey Thomas formerly of Man Utd could tell some stories based on his spell at her Majesties pleasure!
This is the perfect example of rascist and stupid english justice.
If you're rich, you're off the hook. If you're poor, it's the dirt for you.
