By G. Leon
Former four time heavyweight champion of the world Evander Holyfield has informed ********** that he will face Fres Oquendo on November 24 or November 28. The Holyfield-Oquendo bout will take place in San Antonio, Texas. Holyfield was originally targeting a bout with Sinal Sam, but told **********.com that fell through when the German heavyweight overpriced himself. Remember where you heard it first! 7:19 PM -"btalk
Holyfield always picks the wrong people to fight, Oquendo will outbox Holyfield to a UD.
I pretty much agree. oquendo is limited but I think he has a good chance of out working holyfield
To answer a lot of questions at once
1) I had Oquendo beating Byrd 115-113 in a close win
2) Ruiz was ahead of Oquendo on at least 2 of the judges' scorecards for that fight. Ruiz was winning, and Oquendo fought his fight.
3) I agree with K-Dogg that Oquendo is just so timid that Holyfield might be able to take him. He's a great combination puncher, but he fights to the level of his opponent AND HE FALLS ASLEEP as evidenced by his fights with Tua and Ruiz. It is a winnable fight for Holyfield, but in no way am I trying to say Oquendo sucks.
I agree. This may be the most winnable fight Holyfield can make with a decent heavyweight, solid matchmaking IMO. A win here and he will probably get some kind of title shot or definitely an elimination bout for a #1 spot.

:lol1: Ya know, ya had me with ya until ya started mentioning Holyfield winning the title back. I think you got a short in your Crystal Ball....'cause my Magic 8 Ball says, "No Way in Hell"....'course, it is a customized 8 Ball. :D
ya know, i really didnt want to write that part about winning a belt, i was getting cold sweats while typing it , and i threw up in my mouth a little...but damnit, thats what the ball was telling me. for some crazy reason i think hes going to have a semi succesful comeback
fluent the swuami is going to look into his crystal ball and predict the future............ok..its coming to me.... i see holyfield looking surprisingly decent, dare i say good, in this fight and possibly even winning by KO. i see more and more people jumping on the holyfield bandwagon soon after....with all of boxingscene.com is in a wild posting frenzy creating topics like 'HOW LONG TIL HOLYFIELSD UNIFIES DA TITLEZ" and "OMG HOLYFIELD PWNZ" . i see holyfield getting a title fight after that and...thats right.... winning. i see the person he beats for the title either lyakovich or maskaev, or even brock if he grabs a belt by then. the crystal ball gets fuzzy after that and plus im really high so we won't even get into unification
but back to reality, hes throwing combinations again so maybe it really was that shoulder injury that made him look like shit in his last 6 fights. i thought his combinations looked very crisp and accurate against that fat white guy. albeit it was against a fat white guy

Come on man, i thought you were a good poster, have you been on the drink?:D
LOL!!! All I'm saying is Oquendo has never impressed me. Mo Better Harris almost whooped his ass once because he was laying back so much, to say nothing of being stopped by John Ruiz. I'll confess those are the only two fight....actually the Ruiz affair was more clips....that I've seen of Oquendo; but "timid" is the word that came to mind. Sure, he could outbox Evander; but I feel Holyfield knew what he was doing when he picked him as an opponent.

Oquendo's so damn timid, he could actually lose to this ghost.
Oquendo got outworked by John Ruiz. Holyfield can fight with this man.
oquendo was winning the fight i believe in the ruiz fight until that bs stoppage. Mostly everybody thought oquendo was robbed in the bryd fight the same bryd that easily embarrass holyfield.
No i meant Sinan Samil Sam of course!! Peter would knock Holyfield out of course!!
Can't imagine then what would Oquendo do to Holyfield if they fought since he's the more dangerous opponent right!!! LOL
HOLY SHIT!
Holyfield could actually win this one!!!
Ohhh come on diego, oquendo is a good solid fighter, he's the sameguy that many ppl including myself thought he beat chris bryd the same bryd that easily embarrass holyfield.
Frankly I'm tired of hearing the word Holyfield. Times up champ.
Even if you do win your "comeback" depends on some crazy chain of events that leads you to a tittle.
Oquendo is a decent journeyman heavyweight who can have a good performance on any given night.
.He's a good fringe contender, and many people thought he beat Chris Byrd, which was a world title fight, he's certainly not a joureyman. Some people are far far too disrepectful on these forums.
