I respect your opinion... gomez IS a bum...he comes to the ring with shit tied around his head trying to emulate julio chavez whos overrated in his own right...he wears stuff tied around his head like he's a good fighter or something..its funny to me but I disagree wholeheartedly. If we want to talk about overrated boxers...Sergio Mora is the most overrated guy out there today. He is fast but he cant smash a grape. I cant wait to see him step up to the top 10 guys...he will be sound asleep in no time. He hits guys flush with everything he's got on it and he dont even knock them out. He steps in close and switches to southpaw when in close and he will not get away with that with the best of that weightclass. He's fast, has some skills but punchers are born not made, and he wasnt born with it. On the other hand, Gomez is a born puncher, he has some skills and I predict that in the end...Alfonzo Gomez will go much farther than Mora....

After watching Gomez's last two fights,(I refuse to watch the contender) I think that he's got some potential to rise in the rankings in the welterweight division and maybe score a couple fights with some big name fighters. Although, his movement and punches sometimes look a bit slow, he makes up for that by his accuracy, high punch output, and forward fighting style. I also like how well he throws the uppercut. Having said all that, Gomez needs to improve all facets of his style including his power, speed and movement, and defense if he wants to hang with any ranked opponents in the division.

I highly agree that he is overated like the rest of those Contender show fighters...I dont hate him as much as Jessie Brinkley though....I was so happy to see Brinkley get his arrogant ass handed to him by Spina on live TV...I laughed my ass off. He was easily beating Spina untill he got cought, but I see what you mean. His voice is pretty annoying too.

He's ok. He's a tough little guy with a big heart who gives it all in the ring. He ain't a bum or a contender, he's just a decent fighter with some good qualities that other guys lack - such as respect.

Hes not top 10, but far form a bum. He looks in great shape now. His last fight was a draw because he was out of shape, and he got tired. Like I said before hes only 25, so he has time to get better.
