This is my last official scorecard for this fight, done two days ago. I watched every round live and watched them all in slow motion as well on a clear fight copy. I have never seen such bias from HBO before, including Harold Lederman, and it became sickening apparent to me that they were against him from the get-go with their language. They say he was rude and obnoxious at the fighter meeting the day before the fight and only talking about money and fame and not Castillo. THEY WANTED MAYWEATHER TO LOSE. My score is the only way I can score it. I gave Castillo every round he could have won.
1: 10-9 Mayweather
2: 10-9 Mayweather
3: 10-9 Mayweather
4: 10-9 Mayweather
5: 10-9 Mayweather
At this point, there is absolutely no way to have Castillo winning 2 rounds. He's coming back to his corner looking absolutely dejected after most rounds, although he starts to land punches in the 5th. Some judges will give him 1 round to make it appear close because few judges let a fighter dominate even if he is doing just that. Mayweather won 5 of the first 6 and you're going to tell me he lost this fight? Let's keep going just for the fun of it.
6: 10-9 Castillo
7: 10-9 Castillo
At this point, I'm sure everyone is just shaking in their boots at the idea that Mayweather must be on the verge of losing since he lost 2 rounds back to back. I know I was. Castillo landed flush punches in round 7, the best anyone has probably ever landed on Mayweather up until the Judah fight. Poor Mayweather is doomed from all the shoulder punches as well. But wait!
8: 10-8 Mayweather
Mayweather comes back with a big 10-8 round when Castillo lost a point for hitting on the break, a well-deserved point deduction since he tried it after round 7 as well.
9: 10-9 Castillo
10: 9-9 even
Mayweather dominated round 10, there is absolutely no way you could give that round to Castillo, but Mayweather used his forearm even after the ref said no, so it's an even round for the point deduction. Harold Lederman got the point deduction rounds BACKWARDS because he was biased. You really think HBO is going to be supportive of Mayweather for calling his contract with them a "slave contract"?
11: 10-9 Castillo
12: 10-9 Castillo
Castillo won the championship rounds with pure aggression though it was far from effective. Surely he wins the fight for winning those 2 rounds, which each count as 10 rounds by the way.
FINAL SCORE: 114-112 Mayweather
Watch it again and count the punches yourselves. Read it and weep, Castillo fans. There is no way Castillo won this fight. I know you might think he did because you refuse to give Mayweather 5 rounds straight, but he won every last one of them no matter how you judge fights. Compubox was off, HBO was off, Castillo and his fans were off.
your opinions as fans and the biased opinions of a vengeful HBO telecast have no effect on the actual result. most experts had Mayweather winning. the judges had him winning. what more do you want?
Jump through hoops for em too.

The HBO team does not watch the fight in slow mo or second viewing, live alone and I think most agree with me when watching the fight that it looked like JLC won.
Oh I scored it live and compared in slow motion and I had the same. if anything, slow motion reveals Mayweather was way more effective than Castillo, at least two times more effective. And no, I don't live alone, I'm on a school campus, have 15 hours of classes, have a girlfriend, work out every day, and still find time to deal with important issues like this because to me it is. I think it is absolutely horrendous that people can get away with saying Mayweather deserved to lose at one point in his career when that is not the case at all. He is unmarked as a fighter with no blemishes on his record and rightfully so.

This is very similar to the Collazo Hatton decision, where if you gave Collazo all the close rounds and that put him up by just one point, but people still cried robbery.
In general people often value the later rounds more than the early ones, but if you lose the first 5 rounds like Castillo did there (I agree with the scoring for the most part) you're extremely unlikely to win the fight on the cards.

what a shock you have mayweather winning.
he lost, deal with it.
he dominated the rematch.
too bad he got his ass kicked twice though, so what you think doesn't really matter. The records show pbf undfeated, something your OPINION can't take away. Castillo lost both fights UNANIMOUSLY, not split decisions, not majority decisions, but UNANIMOUSLY. live with it
damn.. u dont gotta be an ass about it. thats an "owned" kind of post lol
Because I gave Castillo all the close rounds and still had him losing, which means no, it could not have gone either way, and Mayweather won it. Watch the first 5 rounds non-biasedly and find ONE that Castillo won. You can't.
How am i being biased? All i said was that if it was as close as u say other people can see it go to Castillo. Why am i being attacked for this?
and then u get mad when people call u nuthuggers.
Close fights doesn't mean it go go either way..... It was a close but clear victory is what hes saying, please think this over before you respond. Thanks.
right.. and who was talkin to u?
Even if it was, in your words, a close but clear victory other people can see it a different way, like Hitman18 did. So yea.. actually close fights mean it can go either way, please think this over before you respond. Thanks.
Fuck all this bullshit. I watched the damn fight over and over and over. I admit, after rewatching it, I had Castillo up by only two points. It's not because I'm Castillo's nuthugger or anything, its just that a flush left and right hook is better then four jabs. This is the last time I am ever going to talk about this fight. It seems as though Mayweather won it because he landed more punches in a round compared to Castillo, but most of Mayweather's punches were little jabs, while Castillo's were hooks to the head and body. I saw one round, where Castillo landed about ten punches less than Mayweather, so you'd have to give that round to Floyd right? Wrong. Mayweather landed about twenty jabs, while Castillo landed ten or twelve power shots to the head and body. I say the fighter putting in the harder shots wins the round. It would have been different if Floyd landed twenty jabs and Castillo landed like two power shots, but Castillo landed powershots close to the amount of Jabs that Mayweather landed. Now even in slow motion, Mayweather hits Castillo with two jabs flush while JLC is coming in, WOW!!! Then JLC hits Floyd with a good body and head. Then floyd runs and while JLC is coming in, he hits him with three jabs flush, then JLC hits him with two hooks, then floyd runs and hits him with three jabs and JLC hits him with two powerful hooks. Repeat the cycle. Now Mayweather would have won if they scored the fight based on the number of punches. But they scored the fight based on the quality of the punches. Therefore Castillo should have won. I admit, the second fight was close and could have gone either way, but the first fight was Castillo's. Now say what you will, but I am not responding on this issue again.
Well, it's no secret I have no love for Castillo, but I call it like it is. I don't claim Lazcano beat him or anything. I just think it's wrong how Mayweather's career is semi tainted by this fight, which he clearly won with a bad hand and all and dominated even moreso in the rematch, winning all but maybe 3 rounds. What's sad is the first fight influenced the judges in the second fight and I believe they scored it even closer than the judges in the first fight did. It's just wrong because Mayweather clearly won both of these fights.
Because I gave Castillo all the close rounds and still had him losing, which means no, it could not have gone either way, and Mayweather won it. Watch the first 5 rounds non-biasedly and find ONE that Castillo won. You can't.
You gotta beleive Diego, he knows his shit. He knows how to score it right and make sure not to be a nuthugger while doing so.
when your undefeated for a long time...people want to see you lose..and thats what people are doing when they say castillo beat mayweather in the first fight...he didnt even throw enough punches at the bad handed mayweather
i remember watchin this fight a lot when it first happend, and then about 2 weeks ago i watched it, castillo edged it out to me, a draw wouldnt have been that bad, but i think jose deserved the nod...
