Barry hearn paid a brazilian guy to take a dive for Chris Eubank to use as an advert for the Benn-Eubank fight. . .
Also the judges were easily swayed at Eubank fights because Hearn had taking them to their luxury hotel room he had paid for and ordered them champaigne on ice etc
Eubank-Dan Schommer was clearly politics because it was crystal clear that Schommer won by a atleast three rounds
So you think he is a pussy who knew he was going to lose... or he planned on taking a dive?
DLH is not a pussy though i believe he stood no chance against Hopkins from the beginning. Once he believed he couldnt win , he decided to cop out by going down in dramatic fashion.
DLH vs Hopkins...Fixed like a mothafucka.YUP. Lots of people fell for it too.

Staying down doesn't mean it's a fix. That might mean DLH is a pussy with no heart, but that doesn't make the fight fixed. Fixed would mean he planned on losing and taking a dive.
I never said it was a fix. I was simply agreeing with one of the posters here.
yah i know.
and you fell for it ?
you cant deny the fact that Hoya stayed down to avoid a further beating :D

If the fight were fixed DLH would have won it.
gimme a break. You actually think that punch would keep Delahoya on the canvas like that ?
That was a very shady fight.
:D
I wonder if the Tyson-Etienne fight could have been fixed.
First, there's no doubt Etienne didn't want to get up.
Before that Etienne fell over in a clinch for no apparent reason.
Then look at the circumstances surrounding the fight. Tyson passes out while sparring (due to a back injury) and is going to cancel the fight. Showtime offers him more money. Tyson or someone in his camp might have been afraid of a repeat of what happened in sparring and felt the need for insurance. Also Etienne is apparently a friend of Tyson.
I always thought Cheato Triniwraps vs ODLH might've been. Almost everybody believes DLH... but if you look at the scoring discrepency it's just pretty crazy.
the dives werent like rig dives though. liston took a dive because he was extremely frustrated and could NOT fight a guy like ali. He knew he'd be humiliated, why would he fight on? that was how he was thinkin
and a lot of people thought DON KING payed off the judges in the ruiz-holyfield fight. no way any pro judge could have holyfield winning that fight
You mean in the second fight? Liston got up and kept fighting in that match.
In the first fight he quit because of a shoulder injury.
Fixed fights or bad judges? There is no doubt that when Frankie Carbo was invlved in boxing there were many fixed fights but recently? I'm not sure. The worse decision I have ever seen was a fight between SIZE=7]Matt Vanda and Sam Garr (maybe 2 years ago) Vanda lost, in my opinion, by at least 6 rounds and ESPN had him lose by 7. Vanda got the home town decision. Now did the judges get together before the fight and agree an outcome? Did they listen to the home town cheers every time Vanda threw a punch and think that it had landed? I think the latter is more likely.
That was one of the worst outcomes ever.
ESPN now refuses to air ANY fights in Minnesota beacuse they have no boxing commision.
Fixed fights are also a huge problem in the UFC.. check out
Ken shamrock vs Rich Franklin..
It's so obvious the blind man could tell shammy fell before he was even punched.
Watcfh the fight, you'll get a good laugh and know the UFC is no threat to boxing. With fights like that on PPV your gonna have some pissed off fans.. Even UFC judging is a joke..
That fight wasn't PPV, bud.

Even Lewis vs Holyfield 1 wasn't fixed. Many of my country men forget that it was a British judge who scored the fight a draw which was a terrible decision but a fix? Never.
it was proven that a lot of richie melitos fights were fixed. he was a white italian heavyweight and it was proven that several of his opponents took falls on his way up, he eventually landed a big money fight against bert cooper and was knocked out in the first round. they had audio recordings of his manager talking about the fixes and everything. the funny thing was that richie melito didnt know about the fixes, he really believed he was winning all the fights by his own skill.
