I think you all should search youtube.com for "Antonio Margarito confronts Floyd Mayweather". In the video clip, you can clearly hear PBF tell Margie that he WILL get his shot later on and that when he does it will be BIGGER AND BETTER. I don't see how you guys don't see this. Margarito could end up being a huge name next year after a couple quality wins, then PBF will add him to the list of guys he's beaten. Why fight Margarito when he isn't a big name? People know Baldomir because he's beaten big name guys (Judah and Gatti). How do people know Margarito? "He's the guy who beat.....uh, wait, who'd he beat?" thank you thank you.

i notice a lot of people have that quote "margarito thinks he's in line to fight floyd cuz he beat a couple cab drivers, yadda yadda..." thing in their sig. however, floyd fails to mention that he's done absolute jack shit in the past, what, three years? fought zab judah, who i heard was recently knocked out by a pregnant heidi klum. sharmba mitchell. uhhh huh. what did these two do to deserve a fight with the great floyd mayweather that margarito hasnt? not to mention the fact that he was offered 6 (or was it 8?) million dollars to fight him. im not a margarito fan, or even a margarito supporter, but i hate excuses, and floyd is the king of them. im a margarito fan (sort of) but wat judah has done is at least FOUGHT ppl, even if he lost. he beat spinks, not a great fighter obviously, but margarito hasnt even beaten a mickey ward. sharmba, same thing. hes fought pretty good fighters i.e. tsyzu and leavander johnson (R.I.P.) losing to good fighters shouldnt get u big fights, but it does, since it makesu a bigger name. and it was 8 mil

Margarito hasn't earned the right to fight someone as gifted as Floyd. He hasn't beat any big fighters, and Floyd wants him to so that when they fight Floyd can make a ton of money. Only thing I could fault Floyd for is being greedy.

He was 1 and 1 against Spinks. 1st time he fought a decent Welter he lost. Sharmba is well past his prime. And Gatti?!?!? Are you kidding?!?! I really don't think it matters what speculation is, because there is one all-prevailing theme behind boxing once a boxer is a "name": Business. Floyd is 36-0, which is super-marketable. If he's looking for the 8 figure payday (and he is, he admitted as much) he has to keep his marketability intact. So what THAT means is that he is going to protect his record until he can GET that payday. When he gets it, win or lose, a lot of us will see the fights we wan't, because it'll work like this (assuming the "big fight" is DLH like we suspect): Win vs. DLH - record doesn't matter anymore because he's going to retire with megaloads of cash, so he'll spread out his fights like DLH did the past 2 years. Loss vs. DLH - He'll praise DLH and downplay his own "trash talking" and line up some seriously tough fights to prove he's still "marketable." Patience for the payday, thats all we need to have.
