maybe this has been covered already, but I really enjoyed this movie but I just don't know very much about how much of it is true & how much was creative license; was Baer really that big of a dick & was Braddock really that big of a nice guy, give me some info about the truth behind the movie.
True, but I like the way Ali did his thing, it was almost playful with the rhymes & stuff, not like guy nowadays like Toney & Tyson that are just vulgar & disrespectful
ali was a great fighter, but he is was an arrogant jerk. He did wonders for boxing so i still love him, and hes awsome to watch fight, but when it comes to assholes in boxing, ali would top some charts.
James Toney was much worse, Tyson is aparrently a nice guy outside the ring. Toney, im so sure about, but he seems like a jackass.
And Braddock was supposed to be a hell of a nice guy. writers would go out of their way to mention the type of person braddock was.
exactly. this man was a great and respectable champion. if u watched the real fight, and in the movie, they hug right after the fight ends. All the champions before ALI came along, were respectable and all around nice guys

max baer was acually the opposite, he was supposedly a really nice guy. the movie producers made him look like a dick so there would be that sense of beating the "bad guy".
