I really don't understand it. I mean, I've seen it before to a degree between the brits and americans, but never as bad as this. Why do we care if the heavyweight division is currently ruled by current or former eastern Europeans? It seems to me that there was at least a small amount of joy when Valuev took the belt away from a boring Ruiz. Why the change?
Is it that people were stupid enough to take that "America's last Line of Defense" advertising campaign to heart?
I remember hearing a good example of how some Europeans think of us, both in a positive way and a negative way, described as such:
America is like a child, filled with dreams, filled with motivation to make those dreams happen, though we love that about the States, it sometimes seems that child gets to ahead of himself and becomes arrogant...it is great to see how the Americans treat life as a great possiblity to achieve their dream, but they can over-step their bounds sometimes when the want it to much.
Based on how the media can sometimes treat our athletes, I think that the American idea of life to be #1 bothers the rest of the world; I don't think they understand that coming in any thing other than first is unacceptable...it is not only us though, I mentioned before, the Russians seem to have that same attitude; could this have been the reason for the Cold War ;)
What I do think the rest of the world can tend to like is the many stories they hear of how a poverty stricken person is able to reach his dream and be a success.
I think that the most beautiful thing there is has to be humbleness, and that is why I get bothered by the american mindset sometimes, because this is a rare asset amongst people from the US.
The cinderella story is always a great one, but absolutely not exclusive to the US :)

IMO, it's because as much as you hear that we are all equal, people will always try to find ways to distinguish themselves from others and the like. I personally don't have any problem with where the champs are from, and wouldn't have had a problem if Rahman had won, because with exception of Valuev, they are all good fighters and seem to be nice respectable people. IMO Valuev isn't a world beater, but he sure did us a favor lol

Ok, kind of agree, but not all people from the States have a Texas attitude about the rest of the world.
"Americans" as in North and South American?
If so, the citizens of the United States do tend to take that word "American" as their own and not think of it as "All Americans, both North and South"
Do most Americans tend to be cocky, maybe :D
It is a selfish, spoiled generation in today's United States; not like the "Great" Generation of my Grandfathers.
It comes and goes...if there is another big Depression, it will humble the people...but the bad thing is that we will probably have to go to war to rebound, so that might not be a good thing either.
Then we agree after all. :o

Americans???...as in all Americans?
This country is run on immigrants, through ancestry, and refueling from the new...I still don't know what you are talking about because there isn't a whole lot of that going on; there is some, but it is not a high or even moderate percentage of our crime...if anything, a recent report stated that a lot of crime is actually committed by the illegal immigrants in this country.
I know that the US is run on immigrants through ancestry, but that seems to be forgotten.
And no, americans as in US citizens, i said americans because I have heard people from the US say americans when speaking about US citizens, excluding all other americans. This is very common, and you know it.
I haven't said a word about crime rates in the US, all I say is that it is a widespread apprehension that people from the US think they are better people and that they stand above others.

Cause it sells tickets...or so promoters think. Remember, America is the best ever.
Gangs fighting isn't riots, real footballriots are rare nowadays. Last riot I remember was at Lazio - Roma, and that was almost two years ago.
I'm not saying europeans are angels, but americans in general seem to look down on other people from other countries, all the bullshit talk about patriotism does that.

uhhh you been to ireland lately dude? maybe you shouldnt spend so much time up in sweden and more time in spain and ireland then you'd see how bad it is with riots
every other year you say? why is there always some fucked shit going on over there one way or another?
you guys are just as flawed if not worst then american fans so dont even act innocent man
You people actually believe this happens all the time in football? Riots happens maybe every other year, sometimes once a year, but the reason is mostly the hate for the police.
Regularly really bad rioting has not happened since the 70s and 80s.

I agree!I really don't care about the nationality of the current heavyweight champions.I just hope they eventually unify.
bananas...beer bottles at haglers head... storming the field and trampaling to death what evers in there way
its all the same really what ever it is its no where NEAAAAR as bad as what us ranting and raveing "stupid" americans do ...
you know thats beyond me ...americans can go to a football game or basketball game or whatever ...sit there boo or cheer which ever they choose if there team wins or loses it dosnt matter they get up and leave
yet look at how the world acts and riots almost continuously with no end in sight over the smallest things! like a soccer game
yet americans are stupid HOW!!!!
you dumb fucks cant even sit down and watch a fuckin game without throwing a tantrum if your team loses your like all living with 7 year old brains or something
Whatever the sport, in the US everybody who is not american get booed, I don't think there is any other country worse when it comes to booing, perhaps with the exception of England. But just as an example, have you ever seen a japanese crowd boo an american fighter?
What are you talking about????????
How many foreign born players actually get booed here, other than playing for the opposing team?
Some of the biggest stars are foreign born:
Anna Kornikova :D;
Dirk Nowitzki; Manny Ramirez :lol1: , Pedro Martinez, David Ortiz, Ichiro, Yoa Ming, etc.

hell i dont wanna hear about asian fans because the judges will just corrupt the decision in favore of the homeboy anyways so why boo? your boys gonna win!
Isn't Oleg an American?
I heard he has citizenship, so that makes him American
Hahaha yeah.
He's a Naturalized citizen...and everyone keeps calling him Russian.
That's like Sam Peter's comments about Toney being from Ghana. That shit cracks me the fuck up....big time.
He's like "I'M FROM MICHIGAN BITCH"
