My favorite boxing lounge is Ringside Lounge in Jersey City, NJ. Its the ultimate boxing atmosphere, its the next best thing to being at the fight. Alot of boxers frequent there. On any given Saturday night, you can see Arturo and Joe Gatti, Mike Tyson, Iran Barkley, Paulie Malignaggi, Larry Holmes, or anyone else in the tristate area. On fight night, they have a big ass tv that has the fight. The bartender Joe has an actual ring bell that he rings that the start and finish of every round. They let you smoke inside, which is kinda illegal but fuck it, we're here to see a fight.
After 12 is when it gets rowdy. When you mix beer with boxing, you're gonna have some fights. Atleast once a week, they have a fight. Its cool though, just dont spill anyones drink. The coolest thing there is Tyson. Hes a pretty mellow dude, but some people try to fuck with him. Thats why everytime he goes there, hes always got a cop and 2 body guards at the door making sure no one fucks with . Hes a target cuz people want to sue him.
There is no entrance or drink minimum to get in, and the food is diner priced. Its a fun spot to watch a fight. Whats your favorite boxing bar?
we don't have any boxing bars down here in corpus
on fridays and saturdays folks cook out in their front yards and drink cheap beer.
the votos down here are pretty good about getting cable hookups or sometimes everybody pitches in to order the ppv
lately we've been streaming it
just kinda shitty to watch it on a pc screen for 2 hours
Hey guys,
I live in LA (Hollywood area), and the funny thing is that there is not 1 bar that broadcasts boxing matches let alone PPV boxing. Its crazy. Anyone else living in LA experience the same problem?
A boxing investor pays for stuff, like transportation and training costs. He is then given a percentage of the purses.
Im moving to Main St in Poughkeepsie, how far is that from there?
i mapquested it and it takes 1 hour and 25 minutes. there are 2 nicky's pizza, both show fights but the one im talking about has a better atmosphere.
If thats to long, i reccomend checking it out at least, for one or 2 fights
depends on where u live in hudson valley. If u live near the art center its gonna be like a 2 hour drive. but if u live closer to the city then it might take a half hour. worth it IMO. awsome place.
And i have a question for anyone who could answer it.
The guy who owns this pizza bar place, invested in a boxing prospect. how do u do this? how does that pay off? and whats the money go to? equiptment or something...anybody know?

Is that in the Hudson Valley? I'm moving to Poughkeepsie soon and will probably need a new spot to chill at. Any suggestions?

It is actually a dream of mine to open one someday. We have nothing of its kind around here in the Tampa area and we are a pretty good fight town.We have a few sports bars that play the fights like the PPV ones anyway but nothing mostly dedicated to Boxing.I want to do it and hopefully will when I got more time to focus on it rather than my job now......I guess I am waiting for a better finacial situation which I am working on daily........
thats what i wanna do as well. that would be a lot of fun i think. id just have to find a huge boxing town to open it up in...

NICKY's PIZZA whiteplains NY. the best of the best. What makes it so good, is that its so out of the way, nobody knows about it. Only a select few. You got a great atmosphere in their, all huge fight fans, but only about 35-50 people total.
If any of NICKY's favorite fighters is fighting, he'll buy it and air it, But he'll also give out free pizza and beer. It is by far the best boxing place to go that i know of, and i know a ton. The TV screen is ENOURMOUS.
and if u have to go to the bathroom during the fights, u got small moniters showing the fight right above the urinal.
This guy, NICKY, is MAD rich but it was kinda like a dream to open a restaurant. SO he's only 35 and hes retired, and running the restaurant is like a hobby. its soooo nice. and its by far the best pizza i have ever had!

I go to a local sports bar called Hiney's, big screen tv's everywhere and every booth/table has a 12 inch tv. also, the barmaids/waitresses all dress in Hooters like outfits, pretty cool.
Ah, San Antonio. They got a good boxing scene down there. There not too many boxing cards up here, more mma. San Antonio is more boxing, less mma. A buddy of mine ran an mma gym there last year, but closed it.
Hey Verse,
You don't happen to live in Austin do ya? La Fuentes restaurant is owned by a HUGE boxing fan. He has alot of posters and signed pics of many fighters.
no i live in san antonio
Now, thats fucking awesome. Regular drink price in Brooklyn is 10$ and City is 15$.
Yeah, but this is Jersey and there is no need to jack the prices. The food is cheap also, and its pretty good. A 1/4 pounder with fries is 4.50, go figure. The chicken parmesan sandwiches are awesome. In high school I used to cut school and just chill there and talk boxing, its that fun. And the bartender always throws on old school fights.
Ok, thats good enough. Now, the only thing I need is to convince my friends to go watch boxing match in a bar.
BTW, is it regular 10$ and tip drinks?
The drinks are about 5 bucks each, not too bad.
Interesting, I might visit, when I am in NJ. I might even visit on Peter/Toney fight, cause I will be in the area on that date.
Whats the address btw?
I don't remember exactly, I know its on Tonnelle Avenue next door to the Comfort Inn and across the street from White Mana, the hamburger spot.
u know usually i dont read all u write cause u write alot :o but i read it this time and the way u put it sounds like a good advertisment for it. makes we wanna go now,to bad i live in texas
Oh yeah, its a great place to watch a fight. I love to sit there with a Bacardi Gold on the rocks that I got an adult over 21 to buy for me and debate tbe Hall of Fame credentials of Eusebio Pedroza and who would win between Pryor and Mayweather.
Its cool because you learn alot about boxing. You see how the fighters act when their not at press cons and doing interviews and how they really are. While some might be surprised about Gatti and Tyson's recent losses, any regular of Ringside knew what was coming. Its a boxing bar, and when you're at a boxing bar, you're gonna get your drinky drink on.
