Brian Viloria (19-0) 12KOS vs. Omar Nino Romero (23-2-1) 10KOS

Viloria's got 5 years on Romero.. Viloria is 25, Romero 30
Viloria's trainer, Freddie Roach is well aware of risks involved based on Omar Nino Romero's past..
Romero knocked out Jorge Arce in 1996 (they were both 4-0 at the time)
Hopefully we see a great fight.. predictions? I say Vilora late TKO/KO..
Though Romero took care of business early when he faced Arce (TKO1), he's not really a heavy hitter if one goes by his record of only 10 stoppages in 23 wins and 2 losses. The first of those losses was to Gilberto Keb Baas (currently 26-15-2).
Gilberto is the second of two fighters surnamed Keb Baas that Villoria consecutively defeated in 2004. The first was Juan Alfonso.
Brian disposed of Gilberto in the 11th with a wicked punch to the body while he totally dominated Juan Alfonso. Both were in defense of the NABF LightFly title.
Among the judges of the Juan Alfonso fight was Harold Gomes, from whom Villoria's compatriot, Flash Elorde, took the Jr. Lightweight crown.
Between the fights (or was it after the Gilberto meeting), Villoria took time out to attend a State Dinner at the White House on invitation of Dubya who was playing host to visiting Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo! That's one Villoria has over Pacquiao.;)
Yup, that means the guy is dangerous. :)
But again with Roach on Villoria's side I'm confident he'll make it through.
it ws on their 5th pro fight though, it was a long time ago.
I guess we can't make an inteligent choice because we don't know much about Romero.
One thing is clear, Romero has more PRO fights than Villoria so this should be an acid test for Villoria.
Good Luck Villoria!
romero KO'd arce thats his biggest accomplisment from i gather
