active-DLH
overall-Ali
After DLH retires i think Taylor will be the active face of boxing.Theres not really any heavy out there to grab the spot light and pac looks to retire in the near future.Winky is a great fighter and he fights great fighters but he just doesnt have the style to grab alot of main stream boxing fans.Floyd has a horrible personality and he hasnt fought a top level guy in 4 years plus his style is kinda boring so he doesnt really have a shot.Taylor is the front runner to take DLH's spot after he retires unless a good young american heavy appears out of thin air.
ok how bout Laila Ali
Only cos she's the greatests daughter? She's very pretty but an ugly boxer! I find it very hard to watch a woman box without getting high rate. With the exeption of Riker.
pbf will never be the face of boxing because he doesnt appeal to the casual fans and not many ppl outside the "hardcore following2 of boxing has heard hes name.
in america it has gotta be either pscar tyson or ali but come to britain and all youl hear bout is hatton or amir khan , calzaghe will never get mentioned in the same sentences as these because again he hasnt fallen outside the "hardcore following". shit these 2 boxers get mentioned more than lennox lewis (cause probs bout 70% of ppl dont no hes birtish) nigel benn and chris eubank
Pretty Boy
i like pbf but he is not a household name. a non boxing fan dont know him sigh. It should be delahoya cause even if he is not that active in fighting like the old times, he is there in some big fights today and you can see the name of goldenboy promotions
Mike Tyson still is. Not the current Mike Tyson but the image of the pre Tokyo 1990 Tyson, the last truly dominant champion. Evander Holyfield is second.
Pretty Boy
You go ask someone on the street if they know him.
Now go ask someone who is the first man they think of when they are asked about boxing. Mike Tyson.
mike tyson will be the face of boxing, no matter what. regardless of how much he loses, or if hes retired, or even if hes dead, he will always be the face of boxing.
Seriously. Ask someone who doesn't follow boxing who they know?
They'll say Ali, Tyson, Mora, or Gomez.
I mean, i'm im high school, and my girlfriends' friends all know both of them. They don't even watch the show. These are teenage girls here.
he has a point... ask a random person on the street to name some current boxers and you'll probably hear oscar, tyson, holyfield, RJ and the contender guys...

To be honest?
Right now, there can be no argument. The face of boxing is either Sergio Mora or Alfonso Gomez, at least in terms of being household name. DLH was, for sure, but he's a bit older, and he still does killer PPV levels but he's not the 'face' per say anymore.
Floyd? Nope.
In the UK, i would say Hatton or Amir Khan. Khan, i know he's just a prospect, but his hype is amazing.http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/images/faces/wtf1.gif :bsflag:
I'll say, "TONEY!" as soon as I find a rock under which to hide.
Edit: I don't hate Toney; I like him. His personality, however, is bait for comments such as the above. And, I cannot resist the temptation.;)
