Liakhovich has the right idea

Let’s not waste time with easy challengers. Let’s give the world one heavyweight champion.” Liakhovich (23-1, 14 KOs) says that since Klitschko’s November showdown against Shannon Briggs and Valuev’s October defense against Barrett seem to be taking long times to finalize, why doesn’t one of them switch course? “Everybody wants to see who the real champion is. I am ready; let’s find out. Stop talking the talk and walk the walk. Sign me up. I’m ready, are any of you?” Now my question, isn't he scheduled to fight Kevin McBride? Hopefully not. He's right, enough with bullshit easy defenses. Unify the fucking titles.

Up until a couple of days ago, Mcbride-Liakavich was on boxrec.com to be schedule for this weekend; now the fight is no longer listed on boxrec. I suspect that Liakavich-Mcbride bout will be on the same card as the Valuev-Barrett fight in october.

Guys, seriously, come on! Do you really think that Liakhovich has any say in whom he fights? Get real, Don King is making all the calls there. Why are we discussing who he should fight next if there is not a damn thing Liakhovich can do about it? This is nothing but King's PR.

If Maskaev wins, he chooses his first defense. But since his chance to win is kinda slim..... i think toney/peter is a wbc eliminator for a mandatory shot, oleg and peter are kinda suppose to be tune ups for toney and rahman so they can rematch

rahman/oleg has to fight the winner of peter toney, wlad is fighting briggs then the winner of the ray austin sultan rematch sergi is fighting mcbride for some reason but then will fight brewster again, i dont care what vaulev is doing, ya go heavyweights wooo :rolleyes: :rolleyes: unification in 2007 anyone?

I'd rather see both men fight Americans until it is just the two of them left. Sergei should fight the winner of Maskaev/Rahman and take that belt. Wladimir should either go after the winner of Peter/Toney or just take Valuev's belt like candy from a baby.

I think unification would be a great thing for the division & for Boxing in general, the public intrigue will grow for each of the 3 fights(& rematches if there are any draws) and result in higher & higher ppv sales making the 2 best fighters in the division a crap load of money. Let the rest of the competition weed itself out, there's always going to be good prospects & skilled opposition so why not still attempt to unify, you can't wait forever.

were not the ones making decisions, I think Wlad will make more money fighting briggs then lyko, luko isnt proven yet, they wont dish out the big bux on him yet.. Wlad/Sergei wouldn't be a big fight in america.But it would in Europe.

I agree with this! Klitschko should say fuck briggs for now and go after Liakhovich's belt. Unifying is the most important thing in the heavyweight division right now! were not the ones making decisions, I think Wlad will make more money fighting briggs then lyko, luko isnt proven yet, they wont dish out the big bux on him yet..

althought i want a unified champion myself but i dont see how unifying the division is gonna help the state of the heavyieght division. with 4 seperate sanctioning bodies that means there gonna have 4 different top 10 ranked challengers and its gonna help set up an healthier division then a unified sanctioning bodie with 1 unified mandatorys

Having 4 champs is just ridiculous. I asked somebody the other day who the heavyweight champ was and they said Lennox Lewis...which actually makes more sense than saying Klitschko, Liakhovich, Rahman, or Valuev.

Him and Liakhovich should fight NOW!!!!! i think if he fight sergei in germany he probably makes more money than if he fights briggs in new york the question is whether or not if they decided to fight now if theyd have to keep the MSG location? it might make more sense for them each to dispose of their bum and get down to unifying in europe early next year. i dont know, do you know how much klitschko and briggs are supposedly making for their fight?

I agree, if he goes through with a McBride fight, he's a fucking hypocrite and no better than the others. Barrett and Briggs are much more worthy defenses than Kevin McBride

I'm sure he would cancel his McBride fight to unify. I can only see Valuev doing it though, Wlad and Rahman/Toney will go nowhere near King's fighters.
