It's funny how some of you claim Floyd doesn't want to fight top opposition, but totally disregard the fact that Hatton, Mosley, Cotto, want no part of him right now. So, Magarito is the only card you have left. I'm sure Floyd has his reasons for not fighting Margarito, but being afraid of him is not one of them. Perhaps Arum's 8 million dollar offer had underlying options. None of us have seen the contract so, at this point, it speculative. Also, Margarito is not a PPV draw. Shit, Baldozar is a better draw than Margarito. Many of us tend to ignore that there is also a business element to the game of boxing. So, we have to take that into consideration. Although we're their fans, fighters are not gonna fight the fighters we want them to fight. We could either accept it or not choose not to watch them fight anymore.
Mayweather is disrespectful to sports journalists and broadcasters, he gets sued becaue he doesn't pay his debts, he has been in trouble for battering women...
if I didn't know all of that, it would be easier to enjoy watching him in the ring
I like him but I like lots of the light weight fighters.
Thank god for them because the HW has gone to utter shit.
They make for great and intriguing matchups, lots of debate and arguments, and that's what makes boxing fun.
I just want to see how many people like him and how many people hate him.
not my favorite fighter but i like him. Can be as boring as Jones sometimes but not that bad...only when he runs. :D
I just want to see how many people like him and how many people hate him.
fights great in the ring
dislike his opponent choices especially when it was his ex-girlfriend
i doubt it will happen wiht baldi
but i hope he gets laid out
I really don't like him much......but I picked Neutral because the not liking him answer was a bit to harsh for me......I respect his skills but don't really care for him much as a person.
good post
what i would say is
1. there aint really no untested prospect around 140-147 he can fight except Cotto , and it was made clear Arum wanted none of him
2.i agree sometimes he should just backoff about the money , but we all know about his ego and high opinion of himself , which is a reason i am still a big fan after all the years i have liked watchin him
3. i do think he does move up an down in weight to make the big fights
good post tho
The untested prospect was Margarito, but I am not sure you would agree with that. And yes he did move up in weight and now may do so again. But I would rather he have done everything possible including letting Hatton have a majority of profit in a fight at 140 because then everybody would see that Hatton didn't take the fight. Same thing with Cotto. Now I have no problem if he fights Baldomir but in Februrary (if he fights) he should only fight Margarito or Mosley... not Spinks. Then fight DLH.
And you fucking flip out about it in an online forum, and in doing so, make yourself look retarded. So he might be ducking some fighters.... and hundereds of champions before him in numerous weight classes haven't ducked or slightly dodged opponents. It doesn't fucking matter unless you're one of the fighters and you think he's ducking you....
Holy fuck..
What's this got to do with the thread? Holy shit, quit fucking stalking me, seriously.
PBF is one of the most skilled fighters fighting today, i don't knock him for making intelligent career choices or positioning himself for mega-bouts with DLH or Mosley(I'd like to see him fight Wright too). I have no arguement against guys who think he ducking or dodging cause it's a valid theory, but in my opinion I couldn't make a point like that cause we dont know what he's attempted to put together, & how those negotiation have come along or fallen apart. In the end if he doesn't begin to pick top notch opposition regardless of their status people are gonna think less & less of him, leaving him to be mentioned along side with Jones Jr. as a fighter who hand picked his oposition, & never faced the best in the prime of his career, but he's still far from that comparison. :boxing:
I dont like him but I dont hate him either. I enjoy watching him fight but I dont really cheer for him in fights unless I have money on him.
He just never stuck on me the way Gatti, Arce, Corrales, Trinidad, Holyfield and some other fighters have. I really cheered for those guys and I have yet to see a post fight Gatti interview because I change the channel once I see him lose.
PBF is not one of those fighters that captures my heart the way many others have.
However I do often find myself defending him when some try to belittle his obvious prowess and accomplishments.
