Hamed's been waiting for the ice cream truck for about two hours and he's getting impatient...

"F*ck the ice cream truck, I'm just gonna go to Baskin Robbins Prison branch"...

Anyone who states that Hamed was overrated or talentless has no understanding of the sport of boxing or is just plainly a 'tool'.
He is easily one of the greatest featherweights of all time, he may have been unorthodox, arrogant and cocky but he was also spectacular and widely entertaining.
Barerra beat him well but so what he had a game plan and it worked, Naz certainly wasn't 'raped' he was just outboxed, and as for the Kevin Kelly fight, Kelly could punch (certainly wasn't feather fisted!) and he did officially score three knock downs but two of them were only touch downs and besides isn't that the sort of fight that sells out arena's? Or would we rather watch a Hopkins v Taylor fight?
I know which I would prefer!
Me too mate!

nassem hamed wasnt "awesome" being undefeated and dominating in europe is nothing...he came to america and got dropped 3 times by feather fisted kevin kelly..then raped by barrera..that goes to show you about the level of composition in europe
Lol didn't Kelly have about 40 KO's on his record?
Also its no disgrace to lose to MAB on points? He was a great champion!
Naz was a great fighter, none of this lets play a chess match type boxing he went out to KO his opponents regardless of who they were!
i heard him say on sky sports news bout a month before he got sentenced that when he comes back he will be fighting at super feather cause thats where the money fights are with guys like pacqiou and barrera
At this stage in Naz's life he would get destroyed by pac man ;)

Hamed fought McCullough in the States in 1998.
Hamed fought Soto in the States in 1999.
Hamed fought Sanchez in the States in 2000.
This after the Kelley fight, and before the Barrera affair. We don't have to delve in to how solid these guys are.
Everyone knows Cesar Soto is a rugged challenger, McCullough is one of the most durable small guys of all time if not the most durable, and Augie Sanchez was on an impressive knockout streak.
I'd say leaving out these opponents who are acutally in my book bigger threats than Kelley was, is not consistent with reality.

He should have one fight at lightweight (first fight back) and then settle in at super-feather.
He could knockout Barrera and Morales, thats not unrealistic because those guys are really slowing. Naz had natural speed, he was born with it. You don't lose that, you lose speed if you had to develop it (and hadn't trained for years, and were in your 30's), but Naz never had to develop it. Naz had that speed at seven seconds old, seven weeks old, seven years old, 17 years old, and he'll have it at 70 years old.

the comptition of boxing in europe is alot bigger than in america.
european fighters fight more often and aint scared to travel to fight.
and also is that the same naseem hamed who fought 7 of hes last 9 fights in america been undefeated in 6 of them, also beating some of the best names the featherwieght division had to offer at that time.
your talking as if he came to america was unconvincin against kelly and then got beat. they was 5 fights in between the fights with 3 coming by knockouts

level of composition huh? how about level of comprehension? lol
Naz used to be my favorite fighter. For this reason I think he let me down not coming back and trying to rematch Barrera cos I think he would have beaten him on his best form ;)

From the pics, he doesn't seem anywhere near fighting weight, unless he's moving up. Is he planning to chase the money fights at higher weights like 130+? Don't know how much success he'll enjoy with guys like Pac, EM, MAB, Juarez, etc.
I'm sorry man, I don't.
Hmmm, get Hatton to speak to Naz. You have contacts with Hatton somewhere along the line.
But I would like someone to come on here and tell me whether the "comeback" thing is true or not. It seemed like a dead cert in May of last year, when Naz openly announced it to basically everyone and was talking to HBO, but now it seems less likely. :(
Naz lost fair and square to Dean Pithie at the 1989 Schools, but he didn't lose again until Barrera. So that means he was undefeated in the whole of the 1990's!
Naz was fantastic, which is why we need him back on television ASAP. Not only is he good for the sport, but he is also good for the fans that are already there. Hey Juy, I know you have a few contacts in the game. Do you have any contacts in that part of sheffield (or should I say Doncaster Open Prison), or not?
Naz was a frightening combination puncher circa 94/95.
True, which also brings me onto my next point. After 95 he was apparently "harder to train" said Brendan Ingle. He basically sat back on the punch power and relied on it much more than when he was hungry for Robinsons title.
Naz has claim to the WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO and WBU titles - crazy.
Dude, you can edit 1 post and add all these comments there, you know?
But yes, he beat everyone there was to beat. Which is why I hate it when ignorant "fans" bang on about him being exposed as "soon as he stepped up". If he only stepped up for one fight how the fuck did he arrive at the Barrera fight with absolutely every single Featherweight belt you can have along with a history of bantamweight belts.
