Some boxing insiders believe Prince Badi "The Boxing Prince" Ajamu will end the illustrious career of five-time world champion Roy Jones, Jr., tomorrow night in Boise, Idaho. Prince Badi (25-2-1, 14 KOs) defends his NABO light heavyweight title in the 12-round main event against living legend Jones (49-4, 38 KOs) headlining the Hold Nothing Back! pay-per-view event. Although clearly the underdog, Badi has an edge in several categories for this match-up against the 37-year-old Jones, who badly needs a win after three straight losses, including two devastating knockouts by Antonio Tarver and Glen Johnson. Another defeat will likely spell the end for RJJ.
Can Jones show he can still be a player in the light heavyweight division? Or will Ajamu demonstrate to "His Royness" that his time is past and it's time for the younger light heavyweight athletes to take over?
Badi has improved his training regiment and camp, adding valued experience to his team, and he worked extremely hard to be in the best mental, physical and spiritual shape of his career. More significantly, though, is that he has dreamed about an opportunity like this and, despite the much larger stage, Badi has remained completely focused. And Prince is a very hungry fighter, something that often determines the difference between winning and losing in the ring. Prince feels that this fight is his shot to prove that he is a world-class performer.
We'll find out Saturday night

again...I think all of your comments are psychological effects of knowing that Jones is not in his prime and on his last legs...you start LOOKING for what MAY be wrong...
Nah. Roy looked bad at the 1st Tarver fight, and he looks similar to that here. For the 3rd Tarver fight I knew Roy was past his prime but he looked great at the weigh in and he was in shape. He didn't fight well but that was mental.
Here it looks like he may be drained, and I saw the weigh in video which showed me a good lok at him, not just his arms.
But like I said, we'll see tomorrow.

if a fighter raises his arms straight up during a weigh in vs a fighter who flexes his muscles during a weigh in...the one raising his arms may not look as muscular...
I think it is as simple as that...
Bernard Hopkins and Erik Morales suck in their stomachs and broaden their shoulders up during weigh ins making them look drawn...
an intense and confident fighter will flex his ripped body and look GREAT (Vargas recently), but show up plodding and slow (vs Mosley II) and get knocked out...
take split second screenshots for what they are...again, no problem to form an opinion...just don't let yourself always believe that a screenshot can determine what has happened for weeks or months in training camp
I'm not worried about how he looks on the scale. He went on to win Tarver 1 so even he does look bad here, he can look good in the ring. I don't care for who is on the undercard. I just care about the main event. I plan to watch this fight til the very end. Shit if he does lose SLW you might have someone crying with you. If anyone wants to say something about it, you can just keep it with ya cause I have 100 % support for Jones.
We know, but he looks worse than ever before.
Im quite shocked.
He doesn't look as bad as he did for the 1st Tarver fight. This weigh-in I would equate to the Eric Harding fight. His body looks similar to that and supposedly he was not in the best shape for that fight.
Viewing the weigh-in video also Roy looks skinny in the arms, and looks as if he drained more than he did for the 3rd Tarver fight. He was def in shape for the rubbermatch with Tarver even if his head wasn't in it.
Yeah it is the only fight i'm perferring on the Undercard is Kenny Kenne. Now that country boy can fight. Kinda like Winky Wright in his win lose record. Andre Ward was suppose to be on the card.
LOL
that "old man at the ymca" is a millionare and used to be one of the greatest fighters of this era.

roy jones looks like shit..in the shadow boxing pic he looks like a old man at the ymca..in the weigh in pic he looks like a alcholic bum

yeah man i agree with you, and no i don't think you have to be "qualified" to point out anything, i was just trying point out the riduculousness of, as you put it, juding the outcome of a fight by a couple split second pics taken.
max, you're digging yourself a hole with the whole "need to be qualified to form your own opinion" thing...it is just their opinion...not everyone needs to be a doctor to assess that a man sneezing every 5 seconds is sick or has allergies...
anyway, I think mentally when fans know a fighter is on his last years and could possibly lose, they "LOOK" for what is wrong during weigh ins...really you cannot go by screenshots...these are SPLIT second moments in time...sometimes a fighter will make a face that bunches up his chin and makes him look overweight...or in the process of lifting his arms which distorts the skin of his body making him look drawn or overweight...sometimes it's the lighting that can make a fighter look more ripped than other lighting...sometimes a fighter you're used to seeing confident and flexing during screenshots of weigh ins like Jones look less impressive physically when they are NOT shown making serious faces and flexing confidently...
I am not saying anyone is wrong for making judgement...we all do...just hope that you don't actually let split second in time screenshots create the gauge of a fight...
I remember screenshots showed Mayweather looking just as big if not bigger than Castillo during the weigh in...the camera could have been closer? the lighting different? Mayweather was flexing and naturally is more ripped than Castillo...Castillo was not flexing...etc..but come fight time, Castillo obviously was the bigger man...
So take the weigh in screenshots for what they are...
Qualified? Who needs to be qualified to judge that Roy looked better at one weigh-in as opposed to another? He doesn't look as good as he did for the 3rd Tarver fight, and that's plain as day unless he's hiding a mad 6 pac behind that scale.
We'll see tomorrow. It's not like I'm saying Roy will lose based off this weigh-in.
i just think there is no reason to be worried about this. when i said you weren't qualified, my point was that your not some doctor or trainer who is able to judge by his looks if we should be worried or not, especially if all you can see is one or two pics.

This fight is just pointless. It's on PPV and it's in fucking Idaho. Only suckers will buy this card (and that includes all Roy fans). I know nothing about Bad Ajamu but from the clips I've seen he's got good power but he can't throw a straight punch and he's slow. He seems to be a pretty big, tough customer though. He'll knock Roy out.
Damn man thats Fucked up, i am actually thinking about ordering this card. it's only $25. I'm just hoping to see some of the old greatness that one was.
It's hard tot ell with that scale in the way but Roy doesn't look that great. Maybe he will look better by tomorrow or the scale is just obscuring things.
*worried*
oh please man, what do you expect him to start break dancing on the scales? i think your jumping to conclusions based on somthing your not really qualified to assess.
