Both Sultan Ibragimov (19-0, 17 KOs) and Ray Austin (24-3-3, 16 KOs) predicted knockouts on Friday when they collide in a highly charged IBF heavyweight eliminator for the right to challenge world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko at the Hard Rock LIVE Arena in Hollywood, Florida.
There was tension in the air when the fighters appeared at Wednesday's press conference at the Park Sports Club in the beautiful Seminole Paradise connected to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. There were harsh words between the camps on Tuesday and the fighters were kept well apart to avoid any unpleasantness.
Both fighters look to be in tremendous shape.
"I have seen him in a lot of fights," Ibragimov said. "He's a real good fighter. I checked the videos and I got in good shape. You will see Friday night." In regard to the height of the 6'6 Austin, Ibragimov told Fightnews, "I've fought a lot of tall guys and I know how to do that."
As for the title shot against Klitschko that will go to the winner, the unbeaten Russian stated, "I don't think about Klitschko now. I'm just thinking about this specific fight. After we'll think about Klitschko."
Austin, meanwhile told us he expects the fight to "make history."
"It's definitely going to be an early night," he promised. "That's what I've come here to do. That's what "The Rainman" is known for, I rain on all my opponents and leave them in puddles, that's what I do.....I don't like no chess match."

In the co-feature, unbeaten middleweight Samuel Miller (14-0, 12 KOs) will be showcased against Jason Naugler (15-5-1, 10 KOs) in what should be a good test.
Also on the card, former world champion Randall Bailey (32-5, 29 KOs) is set to face Russell Stoner Jones (19-13, 14 KOs) in an eight rounder. There is talk of Bailey soon getting a title shot at newly crowned IBF junior middleweight champion Juan Urango
Sultan came in at a career high 231 up 11 pounds from his last fight and Austin came in at 245 which is 10 pounds less than his last fight. I read somebody said Sultan looks chubby in the face.
Sultan's style is most easily summed up by saying: Mike Tyson. He's friends with the guy, and really admires him, so if you don't know Sultan Ibragimov, and want an idea of what to expect, there it is. Sultan is nothing, nothing like Timur. Not in the least. High punch output, quick hands, etc. He has flaws, but he makes you want to watch the heavyweight division again.
no offense to you personally but youre at least the 250th person to say that exact same thing. i dont know if youre an alt and just saying that to be annoying im not sure.
but i do know this.
anyone who is expecting timor jr to show up is going to be wondering who the crazy russian sonofabitch is that never stops throwing punches.
...Rumor has it that it's Bloodshits alt. It's an alt of someones because it was in everyones business and knew all of the posters inside and out on it's second or third post. But yeah, the comparison questions of Sultan and Timor is getting old. They couldn't be any more different if they tried.
I'm looking forward to seeing this fight because first, it will be the first time I get to see (Sultan) Ibragimov in action, and secondly because of all the hype that's surrounding this fighter.
I've read several articles on how Sultan punches more than the average heavyweight, is southpaw, and how he can be explosive when delivering his punches. I've also heard alot of "chatter" about him on this forum and trust the opinions of most you guys. ;)
i just hope this Ibragimov isn't as boring as his jabber brother who literally put me to sleep watching his fight against Calvin Brock.
he's the total opposite of his cousin. charges in throwing combos upstairs and downstairs. if there's any knock on him its that he's too reckless unlike his safety first cousin
i got +125 for 9.5 rounds. the extra round never hurt and its paying off nearly as good. looks like you got much better odds than i do on the sultan win though. im looking at -600 on that.
HMMM interesting....You know I never really look around at other sites I have been very happy with pinnacle for about 3 years now and know alot of others that are also....i should check around and see what the odds look like though just for the homework part of it....i think it can tell you something.
Hitman they have it +131 for under 8.5 rounds no matter the winner.

everyone knows that fight was boring. Ibragimov against Brock sucked. The guy threw jabs only.
youre the 250th person to imply that theyre brothers when it is common knowledge that they are cousins.
i never said timor and brock wasnt boring  , the fight sucked balls
i would take sultan to beat calvin brock were they to fight.
just watch the fight, and if youre not an alt, come back to this thread and let me know what you think about sultan, for my money there are only 2 or 3 heavies id rather see fight.

Not even close......Sultan brings heat.
i think he is going to beat austin into the ground.
it sucks that the odds are so terrible on this fight. sultan has gotten so much hype that you gotta bet 1000 bucks just to win 140 on him. id almost stake my house that he wins this fight, but it sucks to get such a shitty return. as i recall i got about 380 back on top of my 1000 i bet when he fought whittaker, and i think austin is a little better.
Whats it look like on the under in terms of rounds? That may be the way to go or Sultan by KO/TKO if they have that option the site I bet on usually does.
I like Sultan to win.......he is relentless. It should be a good scrap tho I think he is going to bring out the best in Austin.

you have to look at this fight this way.
ray austin initially didnt want to take this fight, he initially said no to igbraminov because he is quite simply afraid of him.
well as stated in another thread there is a lot of money behind igbraminov in this fight. his promotors bid 850,000 when the next highest bid was by king at 100,000.
austin stands to make 75 percent of the purse, and don king stands to gain a lot cause he gets a percentage. so it is no mystery why austin turned a quick about face and suddenly took this fight, word got to king that the big bid would be made and he hung his fighter out to dry to get some money here, king knows ray austin isnt championship material, he also knows he wont be getting another shot at 625,000 again unless he gets lucky. king is using up ray austin on this one.
dont believe austins confidence, he doesent want this fight, hw knows he will most likely lose. he will try to get an early knockout but when he doesent he isnt going to last long, he will get discouraged and be content to go home with his money.
igbraminov TKO 6 austin

Im pumped for this one. I love sultans agressive style. jirov like but coming from a natural heavyweight. I still have doubts on whether sultan can be a dominant heavyweight becuase of his lack of defense but he's fun to watch for sure
