why is the heavyweight so dead, and full of useless bums?
Its gone downhill after lewis retired, lol a mummy called valuev is meant to be one of the best heavys atm... just shows how shit it has become.
Don't you all wish there was another ali/tyson :D
bert cooper? im guessing you mean henry cooper and he didnt beat ali.
ali was at his best when he was about 26.. and the US goverment robbed of his actual prime, Dundee said, ali was entering his prime, when he was stripped of his belt.
He looked ok at age 25 in 1967 against the likes of Zora Folley. And anybody that saw the Ali Cooper fight knows that Ali really lost that fight, and inside of 4 rounds.

the fighters atm are all bums, tyson would have them for breakfast in his prime... alot of the fighters now, get recognition when they are in their 30's, and tend to reach their prime later then, the ali days, the prime them days was about 26-27-28 now it is for most heavys 30-31-32. now this could be due to the superior advances in medicine and machinery etc.. its just something i noticed.
The Ali days? Controversial opinion I guess but I think Ali was better in his late 20's and early 30's than in his early and mid 20's.

Heavyweight division has actually taken a step forward in the past year. Byrd and Ruiz are out of the picture which is a big plus. James Toney vs Sam Peter is coming in August which should be an interesting bout. Your down on Valuev and I used to be but now I actually think he's an intriguing fighter to watch. There has never been an fighter like him. I just want to see him really let loose onto somebodies ribcage.
It is kinda of sad but I think at least point I have to rate Rahman the best of the heavyweights at the moment. A Rahman Valuev fight might actually be very good.
Wlad is an excellent fighter with athleticism and alot of tools but I dont that his chin is going to let him hold up for long. It can be entertaining to just watch Wlad totally dominate somebody but what I dont like with him is with its either all one or all the other way. You can never have a back and forth fight with him.
Read this, its a good article on the heavyweights:

A good summary of the fighters, like you say - for Wlad it will be an exciting trip, but I personally hope he unifies.
I know what you mean, the lack of a clear champion and household names has hurt the HW division. But there have also been some good fights recently. Lyakhovic vs Brewster was an exciting fight, and Klitschko vs Byrd was brutal while it lasted.
I think mini-klit is extremely exciting to watch in general. He has great skills and power, but is always liable to get knocked out. That makes for great viewing!
I hope they have a tournament next year to get an undisputed champ. I think its doubtful seeing as Valuev will soon be the most marketable boxer in the world if he doesn't get sparked in the near future. The people love a freak.....
