why briggs is unlikely to stop wlad

the only way briggs wins this fight is by early knockout ( 4 rounds or less). wlad has been stopped on 3 occasions but the only guy to stop wlad early was sanders. does this mean briggs has a very good shot at stopping wlad? NO!! why? because sanders is an awckward sharp shooting southpaw that uses his stance to his full advantage and sets traps. he catches you walking into his left hand which he did with wlad and most of his other 24 first round knockout victims( yes wlad was tko by 2 but was basically out on his feet since the first knockdown in the 1st). briggs has power but its coming from the conventional stance and doesnt have that sneaky type power that sanders has. plus briggs isnt as accurate a puncher as sanders is and hasnt ever stopped a top 15 heavyweight. I give briggs a 1 in 4 or 5 chance of stopping wlad. my prediction is he gets caught walking into a a perfectly timed straight right hand as he aggresively tries to knock wlad out in rounds 2 or 3. this fight will resemble the derrick jefferson fight imo. we'll see,,,should be a good one while it lasts :boxing:

Fighting Briggs is a joke. Everyone's realized it except Wlad's nuthuggers. Now you guys are talking about how threatening Briggs is. Sad. lol,,,he could be fighting king kong in his 1st defense and you haters would find some way to put him down. he's facing the type of guy that gives him the most trouble. a guy with power. sure beats fighting kevin mcrbide or owen beck for a first defense like the other title holders

LEts not forget, that 2 of the kd's where bu a push and illegal punch. I dont beleive Briggs got better chance to stop Wlad then lets say Peter or Rahman. u r right, i don't rememer much about that fight except, wlad went down 3 times, and won 9 rounds. I guess my only point is that although i beleive wlad will win, is that Briggs does have a punchers chance.

Ive come around to be a fan of Peter, hes incredibly entertaining IMO. no offense or anything but im curious as to how you recently come around to being a sam peter fan. his fight against robert hawkins was a ten round borefest, and his fight against julius long was a 45 second freak show. the guy cant speak english so its not like he entertains at the press conference. im just curious, cause i used to think peter was entertaing after he fucked up jeremy williams and taurs sykes, but i have gone backwards from you in my opinions of him

Don't forget, that Wlad was also cought and dropped 3 times by a less experienced Peter. Who didn't continue to attack when he had Wlad hurt. I think Briggs has a great chance for a KO, althoguh i wouldn't beat against wlad unless he was fighting Brewster/Brock, or Toney. I think Wlad would take out everyone else in the Div. Wlads chins, does make for great fights though Only one of those KDs were legit, rabbit punches were discredited but I know what your saying. I think Peter has the best chance at beating Wlad at the moment still. I dont think Toney would stand a chance, Valuev would be embarrassed, Brewster idk about anymore. This is why I beleive Briggs wont stop Wlad. As the thread creator mentioned Briggs is a powerful puncher whose only chance is too catch Wlad early. Briggs is not a fast man, Briggs is Orthodox, and Briggs will gas out earlier than Wlad. Wlad only got KOed early by Corey Sanders who is powerful, faster, Southpaw. Briggs just doesnt meet the criteria... Don't forget, that Wlad was also cought and dropped 3 times by a less experienced Peter. Who didn't continue to attack when he had Wlad hurt. Sad. the nuthuggers arent nearly as bad as the delusional haters who think that briggs is going to knock wlad out, who thought that byrd was going to beat him, that thought that eliseo castillo could knock him out etc......... there is no such thing as being a fan of wlad without being a nuthugger to people like you. i like lots of different fighters in many different weight classes and watch any fight that is televised and post about the results and my thoughts and i still get called a nuthugger for liking wlad. the bottom line is briggs has about a 10 percent chance of beating wlad, just like everyone else at heavyweight. maybe peter has 20 percent, but nobody else.

Briggs got up from 5 huge knockdowns by Lewis (well, the last one was more of a slip), so we'll see if Wlad can do better against this much older Briggs. Keep in mind, Lewis fought Briggs almost TEN YEARS AGO. and lets also keep in mind lewis was nearly knocked out in the 1st round of their fight and took 5 rounds to stop him

actually wald was Winning agianst Purrity but quit because he had no energy, so he has been stopped twice first of all he said 3 times, which is true you say hes been stopped twice, which is wrong as walter solchuck would say "youre out of your element" wlad has been stopped by sanders, purrity and brewster the original poster said hed only been stopped "early" once, by sanders, which is true also, the other two came later in the fight
