Carlos Baldomir is now a major star in Argentina after tonights performance. He is probably the biggest fighter the nation has produced since Monzon. Therefore, he could likely draw 70-80K in a soccer stadium for a fight. A fight down there could produce huge dough and no one could give Mayweather crfap about anything if he fought the linear champ coming off an incredibly impressive performance in his own back yard.
A side not: After watching Baldy last night, I think he would beat Margartio fairly easily. I just think Baldy is a smarter fighter with a more confident style at this point. He is also incredibly big and strong. But I don't know why he would bother with Margarito either when their are bigger named fights available to him now.
It's Brazil.
Richest Countries in South America
Rank Country GDP - per capita
1 Uruguay $ 12,800
2 Argentina $ 11,200
3 Chile $ 9,900
4 Brazil $ 7,600
5 Colombia $ 6,300

Floyd is the best P4P fighter in the world and a recognized big name in boxing's future. He is a PPV attraction on his own.
Why would he go fight at 3am in Manchester?
** Probably to get you off the streets of Manchester.
Next dumb question!
Its koo....but fuc** detomaso, obviously he just hating on me wonder why, prolly cause i said Cotto would KTFO Paulie  :fuckyou: DeTomaso whatever that means.
lol...
Brazil isn't even a spanish speaking country. So you win.
Floyd can make the most money fighting either Oscar in Vegas or Hatton in Manchester. He's on record as stating he won't travel to England for his biggest payday and most assuredly he won't take short money against Oscar, which means PurtyGrrl might be fighting for JMMarquez chump change in his next fight if he don't get his bloated ego sorted out!
It's Brazil.
Yeah, I just fucking hate little crying internet bitches like xcaret.
definite props for the super lyrical whiz!
that's cuz brazil aint spanish it's really porugese.
True $100 would be a lot per ticket given the state of the Argentine economy, but consider two things.
1) Argentina is a huge sports loving nation and this would be as big a sporting event as the nation has hosted problem since the 1978 World Cup (may be leaving something out, but you get the idea). THere would be huge enthusiasm for this type of event, probably a lot more than for the Stones concert discussed earlier (love the Stones but they must have played BA sometime fairly recently).
2) THere are still a fairly large number of wealthy argentines, many of whom could spend 500-2k for ring side seats inflating the gate even more.
Finally, the real issue is would Floyd have the guts to do this and this would take major guts. Fighting a tough guy to begin with in front of 80K partisans would be a very gutsy move. I would have far more respect for Mayweather if he did this than if he fought Margarito anywhere outside of the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. However, I think the upside for this would be huge. Boxing was at its zenith when megafights were fought in huge stadiums. Can you imagine what the atmosphere would be like? If Floyd won in this type of an environment he could become an international superstar.
Because Argentina *isn't* nor *ever was* the richest ...
BUT, xcaret *is* an ignorant bitch.
btw, Big Pun...RIP.
lol...
What is the richest latin country?
Also, why did you take it so offensively? Is it that because it's fake? Or do you just hate xcaret?.....or both?
Either way, what is the richest latin country?
Cause a fucking retard named DeTomaso called me ignorant for saying that shit.
lol...
Good to see you back, man. I never hated you or anything, it was just all in the fun flaming with you if you know what I mean, nothing personal. :D
I don't get it.
Xcaret said that Argentina is OR was the richest latin country. What he's saying is true, so why is he getting so much heat for it? That is some funny shit.
With the person that started this thread, that does sound like a cool idea. Imagine a boxing much today with 80,000 people. That would be unreal. Nothing like that has happened in decades. I think that lots of people would be capable of buying tickets.
Really? Sounds like they suffer from the Vargas disease.
What is there to gain by fighting again but another old fashioned ass whipping!!
They're stubborn and have that "macho" Latino thing going on. Plus the Falklands issue distracts the Argentine populace from problems closer to home....
HAHAHAHAHA
I seriously doubt the Argentinians will do that again!
There is a good chance the Argies will try again. They've started eyeing the Falklands up again.
The Argentine peso was 1 for one to the dollar until a few years ago then it went 3 to 1 where it is now. I travel there every year and let me tell you that $100 dollars a ticket is way too much for how the economy is. The Rolling Stones were there in Feb and sold out two days and tickets started at $25 dollars and even that was expensive for a lot of people. Right now a big payday for Baldomir is here in the states not in Buenos Aires, would not mind it though cause Buenos Aires is a great city with a nighlife that wont quit and beautiful girls. I would love to go back to see Baldomir fight Maywather at River Plate Stadium.....that would be amazing.
Are you fucking stupid? read some fucking history you dumb piece of shit. FUCK!!#!# pisses me off when people talk shit to you when you say something TRUE
it shouldnt, u do it all the time!!!!
in fact, u JUST did it. he called u ignorant (true) and then u talked shit! why are u complaining?
isn't the economy in argentina screwed? will there be 80,000 boxing fans there who can afford 100?
Yeah, the Argie economy has got fucked up. It was the strongest in South America and recently it fell apart. Bet they'll invade the Falklands again just to take their minds off their miserable economic state.
80,000 people at 100 bucks per ticket is eight million dollars. Where is the money coming from to pay Mayweather "huge dough"?
Thanks in advance.
The eight million, plus the PPV sales I think is what he's getting at.
