DAMN, I can't believe he was stopped. I thought this guy was going somewhere. The only thing that I thought needed improvement was his defense because he got hit too often.
b-hop once sed that what makes a great fighter is coming back from a lose..hopkins lost his 1st eva pro fight..does that make him shit..no cus he had somthing 2 learn from..how can u grow as a fighter if u dnt lose and hav somthing 2 learn from..now a dys boxing is all bout being undefeated..bullshit..all the greats hav lost at least once
When your nickname is the chin checker you should expect guys to try to check your chin.I'm not suprised that Stevens got beat but I am a bit suprised that he was tko'd.A lot of the time stocky fighters like Stevens have pretty solid chins.I figured that when Stevens got beat he would be outboxed not stopped.I don't know if this is the end for the chin checkers or not but there needs to be some rebuilding.People shouldn't be suprised that Primera beat him he's shown that he's capable of an upset from time to time.He was almost non existent vs. Zertuche for whatever reason.I also read that Stevens was giveing him a beating and they want a rematch soon maybe he just got careless and got caught time will tell.I think there should be a Stevens-Codrington fight to see which fighter gets there chin checked the worse.
damn isnt marcos primera the same guy who fought jose luis zertuche on pacman-morales 2 undercard? if thats the same guy than thats fookin crazy cos zertuche(whos a journeymen at best) won every round against this guy and even koed him in the tenth....
thats sad
once again proves that we shouldn't give a shit about these guys until they win a meaningful fight. who are the chin checkers and why should we even care?
wow, crazy stuff.. he was a pretty solid prospect up to now.. pretty interesting, thanks for the news
wow, i looked up Marcos Primera's history, before the upset over Stevens, he'd lost his last 5 fights, he's got some other 'name' losses on his resume too, a decision loss to Luis Collazo, a TKO loss in the 5th of a scheduled 10 with Jermain Taylor, and a 4th round TKO loss to Kingsley Ikeke... man, DiBella's guys are looking solid lately  i guess they still got a couple undefeated's in Berto and Powell
Curtis Stevens Upset By Primera
Earlier tonight at the Manhattan Center in New York City, the year of big upsets continued as undefeated super-middleweight Curtis Stevens (13-1, 11KOs) was stopped by journeyman Marcos Primera (20-15-2, 13KOs) in the eighth round. details]
first off what kind of bullshit youth middleweight title do both guys weigh in at 165 for??
secondly, remember 2 days ago when he was calling out andre ward???
