Sanders was a monstrous puncher, and everyone in boxing and anyone who ever saw him fight knew this. His straight left was one of the most feared punches in the HW division in the last decade. Ask his friend Lennox Lewis about Sanders's power. He knew all about the straight left and had no interest fighting him because of it.
Why does someone say something ridiculously foolish and completely contrary to the truth on every thread of this forum? I've heard it all I think, and now I'm just waiting for someone to call a prime Mike Tyson slow or to say that Marciano had a glass chin. Oh wait, that's one's been done...
are you trying to say that they are big punchers or they are not. Because they are not known as big punchers which is what my post says.
Dude are you OK , have you ever seen Sanders or Brewster fight?
They both can bang !
And the dumbest thing you can say , Peter could not KO Wlad so he cant hit as hard as Sanders or Brewster , thats just fucking stupid !
Go and watch the fights before you say something else retarted !
it is possible that peter could KO toney. but, will he? it depends on what peter shows up. also depends on what toney will show up.
to sum this whole thread up in one sentence...........
it's all relative.
You are right that nothing is absolute. But if you are familiar with Toney's career you know he is very intelligent. He will do enough to win a UD and nothing more. He will take rounds off but he will know he has to win 7 of 12 rounds and not be knocked down. And guys, there is a difference between having devastating power and knocking a lot of guys out. Pretty much all HW's KO a lot of opponents because they are bigger men. But Sanders and Brewster have never been known as the biggest punchers in the division. Rahman is a more devastating puncher; Tua is a devastating puncher. There is a difference between KO ratio and power.
people are forgetting that toney is 37 yrs old and finally started to show signs of looking his age in his last fight against rahman. and no,,,rahman is not a devastating puncher. he hasnt put a descent heavyweight on his back for years. peter's power is also overrated by many but he is stronger and hits harder than rahman. if toney gets his weight down then I do pick him by decision,,but I dont think its an easy win for him like many others do. strength and youth will to some degree cancel out the much better technical skills of toney and make for a competitive fight and if toney does come in heavy and out of shape he does run the risk of being stopped for the first time in his career
As for this fight, I think if Peter comes in serious shape then he can win just by sheer agression and will, esp if Toney fights like he did against Rahman. But I think Toney will come in better shape and be able to pull out a decision. Judges seem to have a love affair with the guy since his comeback at cruiser.

You're wrong. Sanders has always been known as a puncher.
Brewster has been a sort of Buster Douglas, capable of incredible feats and vicious KO's, but also capable of very ordinary outings. But Wlad's loss to him was more about Wlad than Brewster's power, everyone knows that.
think about it the judges most likely will score peter rounds when toney is defending and rolling whether he lands clean or not
Makes sense but judges for some reason like Toney's style, I had the Jirov fight alot closer then the judges. Regardless of the agression, I still think Toney will be fighting his fight all night long on the inside, Toney by TKO or UD.
no, no i didn't
i leave all possibilities open
nothing is absolute
toney probably can't roll off peter's punches for 12 rounds and his potshots won't phase peter anyhow
wlad could keep peter at bay and tired him late wiht his reciprocated strength
toney most likely can't
peter ud - on activity and youth alone

Toney by easy UD. Peter is the most overrated power puncher in the game. He couldn't KO Wlad Klistchko... who was previously KO'd by Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster (neither known as a devastating puncher). Toney has a solid chin... we know this... so how is Peter going to KO him. And don't tell me you guys think he can outbox Toney.
Both of them are known as devastating punchers.
......Peter will chase Toney all night while hitting anything he can. He will shove him around, bully him, and eventually catch him. Toney's age and Peters punch will catch up to him in the later rounds. I hope Peter KO's his ass so hard that he feels the pain for weeks.
agree, this is a scenario of far higher probability than othes suggesting toney will school or even ko peter
and even if he doesnt ko toney he'll win those rounds on aggression
You've explained why Toney will win a UD. He will frustrate Peter and he won't fight the same fight as Wlad. Wlad was aggressive against Peter and was therefore open to being countered which Peter did. Toney will lie against the ropes to conserve energy while dodging the big blows from Peter. Then he will potshot Peter when he sees his openings. And those openings should be numerous as Peter is not a great defensive fighter. I like Peter but he showed against Wlad that he is a one-dimensional fighter who can be beaten with good strategy. Toney is the ultimate strategist and has a solid chin. Toney by UD

they are known as big punchers which is about all they did have although brewster had or has tremendous heart and sanders had good hand speed
wow both Corrie Sanders and Brewster are known as big punchers, ur an idiot.
