Which is better the Ultimate Fighter or The Contender

the ultimate fighter isnt over-glorified, over-dramatic, and you get to see the whole fight. the UFC is full of fighters who want to HURT each other. i dont know a single fighter in the entire sport of boxing who boxes just to hurt people.

Would u say the De la Hoya show was better in that sense? BTW I agree about the music its the f*ckin best. I like the Ultimate Fighter alot too cuz of the trashtalking and the beefin between Tito and Shamrock in the last season. They had some crazy ass white boys on last season haha Ed Herman was a badass and he was freakin hilarious. "I dare you to say something to me about being gay if u see me walking down the street" lol I thought it was much better. I thought the Tito/Shamrock beef was hilarious. Yah Herman was a cocky badass. He talked alot of shit but could back it up too. I liked it when he turned his room into the bahamas. :D

This is what most real boxing fans want from CONTENDER... - Show full fights, not just highlights(with highlight replays from just one angle) - less sound effects with punches, you aint foolin nobody ;) - a bit less family in the locker room, more sparring and training - alottt less family and gf side talk during fights, especially little girlies being alowed to come near the fighters corner. All in all, a bit more reality and a bit less drama would be nice. :) I agree with this post 100%. The Ultimate Fighter just seems more real so if these changes were to be made for THE CONTENDER then it would be so much better.

The Condender has some 'old' guys on it trying to make a comeback. Ultimate Fighter really lacks that because it is such a young sport. I do wish Contender would show 100% of the fights, but to be honest, it is marketed more for the non-boxing crowd. If it brings more fans to the sport, though, it's all good, especially with boxing at a low right now. Ultimate Fighter brought alot of new fans to mma. Oh, and about there being all good fighters on UF, that is not true. I've noticed several guys with little or no ground game on there. And no one can seem to verify Jason Thacker having ANY fights before he was chosen to be on UF. All the guys on Contender at least have verified winning records.

i like both, but i like TC better.... my friend asked me today if MMA will over take in boxing the next year and I said no way... but in the 5-10 years maybe... right now don king and PBF are killing boxing by not making fights people wanna see... nobody wants to see valuev/barrett or SL/mcbride and floyd looks like he'll be fighting another opponent who no chance in hell of beating him... if boxing doesnt get its act together, it will get passed.... i love TC... its different from the other boxing programs.... we would care nothing about clark vs K9 if it was on FNF, but since its on TC not only do we care, but we're rooting for K9... i can watch boxing on HBO, showtime, epsn, fox, telemundo, ppv, if i wanna see the entire fight...

I like the contender better.The ultimate fighter is alright though.

I love boxing and would take it over UFC any day. but The Contender doesn't have enough boxing in it. I like all of you wanna see every minnute of every fight and i don't wanna be treated like an idiot with all those sound effects. I wanna see more training and sparring and less time in the dressing room re-uniting with family members. The Ultimate Fighterwas great cause they were training and fucking eachother up and then fighting, and we could see the whole fight.

Watched both shows & far & away the Ultimate Fighter is better. The Contender is borderline corny. All that dialogue & I never seen so many pretty boys fighting in my life. They look like they have makeup on. Plus there way to much crying. Love the fight game either way. Boxer or whatever....you have to know the Ultimate fight show if better hands down....the contenders has some of the weakest fighter while the UFC bring in top contenders from all over the world..UFC gives great fights every week, while the contender doesnt even show the damn fight, just snippets of the best blows...

He won the last fight against i forget who but he didnt win the contract..Ed, Kendall, and Bisping did. Thats another thing i didnt get if he was deaf how was he having conversations with the other guys? it looked like he could hear them perfectly well. I think he was reading people's lips. Then again he coulda lip read Tito's during the break instead of having someone tell him with sign language.

No music, no replays of the same punch from 3 different camera angles and so on. The Contender music rocks though! Also I dont like how they show the crowds reaction to punches. i like the ultimate fighter better. you get to see the whole fights and theres no family involvement. the ultimate fighter knows who its audiance is while the contender is trying to get a different audiance at the expence of fight fans.

I have to agree. In the fights they made it look so dramatic with every boxer's family shouting and yelling, but they don't have to cut to them every single damn scene. It's just a peeve of mine, but I dislike it when the girl's of some boxers would go up to the corner during the break and try to give the boxer's some support or info. That's why they have a cornerman talking to em. It just makes everything look so movie like. The most annoying IMO is the replay of one devasting punch from like 3 different angles. They should really think of changing it unless of course the majority of people like it. I dunno?

One thing I like better about the Ultimate Fighter is that there is more trash talk shown and more training shown. The Contender adds a lot more drama to it by showing the families. Ultimate Fighter is a much better show out of the two. The Contender is suppose to look like a damn rocky movie with everyone always talking about issues, except boxing. Plus they bring in the families and they talk for like 10 minutes. It be okay if they were out in the stands cheering em on, but just talking and talking. I'm okay with the highlights, as long as there is a few snooze matches. It be boring to watch a boxing match that has no action once so ever. They need to cut the sound effects of every single punch sounding like a haymaker though.

Showing the whole fight would take almost half the show though, thats the problem. I don't see how that's a problem. It was decrease the boring family stuff. The idea of the contender is good, but it's awful to watch when you see the edited rounds with sound effects. As boxing fans we have NO IDEA who won a fight if it's a decision on that show because we didn't see the majority of it.
