(i know i posted this once, but i think everyone has to see this...)
holy crap... what was Manfred (3rd judge) watching!!! He gave the last 2 rounds to Spinks:

Entering the final round of Saturday night's IBF jr middleweight showdown in St, Louis, Cory Spinks was narrowly ahead on all three official cards. Judge Melvina Lathan had Spinks up by three points, while judges Jerry Griffin and Manfred Kuchler both had Spinks ahead by one point. So if Roman Karmazin had managed to win round twelve, he would have retained his title by majority draw. The last round appeared to clearly be Karmazin's round and both judges Griffin and Lathan saw it for Karmazin, however Kuchler scored the round for Spinks, giving the hometown hero with the margin he needed for victory. In case you missed it, Spinks-Karmazin will be replayed for the first time on SHO Extreme Monday night at 11PM ET/PT.
I gave 11 to Spinks as well, but there is no way he should've won the 12th. Even though he was on his bike in the 11th, I thought Spinks did enough to win the round. In the 12th, however, he was flat-out running. It's like scoring the last three rounds of the DLH-Trinidad fight for Oscar.
I remember my toss-up rounds being 6 and 11, and I gave both to Karmazin. So scoring every possible round I could for Karmazin basically, I still had it a draw. That is why I cannot see Karmazin winning the fight but can see Spinks winning it. Still, it wouldn't really have been a robbery either way.
i honestly cant believe the judges scored round 11 for spinks, listen to his trainer after the 11th and tell me if that sounds like advice for a fighter who just won the last round.
really the bottom line is this..
if you score rounds 6 and 7 for karmazin how can you not score round 11 for him?
wham bam thank you ma'am. those judges sucked. they got the rounds wrong, but the final scoring right.

i rewatched the fight and i don't agree with the later scoring by the judges. spinks won early but he was struggling badly at the end, both with stamina and focus. he did enough early to win but i'm not sure what the judges were looking for at the end to give those rounds to corey.
I haven't seen the fight yet.
Here's what some judges do. They score the fight close, then in the last few rounds, score the fight for the guy they think deserves to win the fight, for whatever reason possibly even corruption, even if that fighter loses the round. Is that fair? I suppose if the "right" fighter wins, it's fair. But it isn't sporting.
Those judges suck but at least the scores came out right. They got the rounds screwed up, but they got the result right. I had it 114-114 after giving Karmazin a debatable round 6. Draw or 115-113 Spinks victory would be acceptable, and those were the scores.
These judges are BS and boxing scoring system is so flawed. These days all they do is make the fight close and score it whatever they want and give it to the winner or make it a draw.
Roman won the 11th and easily the 12th. In he 11th Cory was reaching for his punches and missed most of his left hand crosses. Roman also landed his best punches in the 11th and hurt spinks.
Wow, I just realized Spinks got the 11th on all 3 cards. That was the difference in him winning the title, and there's no way he won the 11th IMHO. Interesting...
those last couple rounds are the only reason i made this thread..
Get over it,Spinks won,his punches were perfect,Karmazin's were all over the place, atleast in d 12th wen cory threw he was hitin,Karmazin started 2 late,he lost, dats it
what are you talking about? i had Spinks winning on my scorecard... open your eyes and read the thread before you type..

LOL His score wasn't far off (I had it 115-113 Karm), but the rounds he scored were. Kind of like Ford giving the 12th to Taylor in the 1st Hopkins fight. He had the right final score, but his rounds were wacked.
