From the following 7 PRO former 2004 US Olympians,
who will become a World Champion in the near future???
(You can choose more than 1) :boxing:
VANES MARTIROSYAN - (9-0 6KOs)- Jr. Middleweight
ANDRE WARD - (9-0 5KOs) - Middleweight (2004 Gold Medalist)
DEVIN VARGAS - (9-0 4KOs) - Heavyweight
VICENTE ESCOBEDO - (9-1 9KOs) - Lightweight
ROCK ALLEN - (8-0 6KOs) - Welterweight
ANDRE DIRRELL - (8-0 5KOs) - Super Middleweight (2004 Bronze)
JASON ESTRADA - (6-0 1KO) - Heavyweight
I picked Ward and Dirrell because they did well in the Olympics and most of the time olympic success translates into pro success.I doubt Estrada amounts to much more than a fringe contender. When he lost in the olympics he didn't act like it mattered.I don't know much about the others to say if they will someday be a world champ or not.
Only ones from that list I'll say for sure are Andre Dirrell and maybe Rock Allen, maybe Ward. I mean all of them could win A title but I put only guys I think could be considered THE champion of their divisions possibly.
I doubt Andre Dirrell is a for sure pick, although i picked him as well.
I like his brother Anthony Dirrell's style and power much more. He will go farther in my opinion.
Rock Allen is a solid pick i think.

i have got to go with vanes martirosyan
ya, Vanes is gonna be great for boxing all together guys, I promise you.
Makes me happy that so many people see the talent he has and believe that the 20 yr old has what it takes to become a World Champion one day.
Don't miss his TV debut - August 12 - HBO PPV
oh and a few people have been asking about my avatar, yes that is me and Vanes at a bodog sports party.

What about "bad" chad dawson or ronald hearns? Jason Litzcah? ;)
please READ guys.
These are ONLY the 2004 US OLYMPIC BOXING TEAM prospects who turned pro after coming back from Athens, Greece.
I know there are manyyyy other great prospects not listed, but thats what i narrowed this down to, our US Olympians.
what you say makes alot of sense bro.
I think the KOs for him are yet to come as well.
Pretty much all of the 2004 Olympians listed here have been fighting decent opponents who mostly have winning records in their first 10 fights.
Many of the great champions of today have their first 10 fights handed to them like gifts with F class opponents.
Estrada is already fighting 10 rounds , C. Brock did not start 10 rounds till 20 fights !
If you have seen Estrada fight, he looks like a fighter that has been fighting pro for 30 fights , I think by the time he has 17 or so fight`s people will start to talk about him in as being the next big thing !
It`s funny how only one person one here so far has picked J. Estrada (ME) to win a title !
Some of you guys are not doing you homework , take a look at Boxrec !
Look at the first 7 pro fights of Brock, Vlad , Peter, Rahman, Valvev , and look at Estrada`s first 7 ,all of his opponents had winning records unlike some of are top fighter today , maybe thats why he is not KOing guys as easy , thay are not your usual bumps that most fighter start out fighting !
Think about it !

I think he's outstanding.
He's quick, powerful, and highly technical.
ya, he had been working on that uppercut and he showcased it well.
Vanes just needs some improvment on his defense, but that will come too as the opponents get better.
although i think he is going to be the next best thing, I can actually see him getting dropped...he was rocked in his last couple of fights...too bad they were scrubbs....
Thats what I am saying......I mean he has been rocked more than once by very poor opposition. He has very good skills but you can just all of a sudden develop a chin.He will get badly KOed someday I do believe.
I think Dirrell and Vanes have a decent shot.I think Ward is going to end up a disappointment and KOed before too long. :boxing:
