Shane at 135 was a freak of nature, but still with all his natural talent he never fought Stevie Johnston or Gussie Nazrov. Lots of talent no big fights at 135 and that when he was ta his best.
No he is not an all time great. Lost to Forrest twice, Was clowned by Winky Wright and in my book is 1-1 with DLH
Shane is the most overated fighter of this era, only fighter he beat was DLH the first fight and that was only coz DLH at the time promised a 4 fight 4 knock out year so he fought Shane with no game plan just 2 go in there and bang. Thats my opinion on Shane, the name sugar is 2 heavy 4 him, someone withat name should b special and he's not. 2 me he's a good fighter never a great fighter and certanly not a all time great thats just bananas!
What do you guys think?
Ehhh, honestly, I'd put him on the outer fringes of "All-Time Great". He was superb at Light-weight; but his welter-weight credentials are suspect as are his stats at Jr. Middleweight.
I'd say he might just get under the bar.
hell yes... he fought wright twice ...he fought vernon twice ...they were both bigger and honestly he didnt need to fight neither of those fights ... if shane would have fought trinidad instead of fighting winky ... shane would be P4P right now ...and winky and vernon would be unknown right now ...
shane will destroy anyone his size ...
cotto
castillo
hatton
delahoya
pretty boy
who else want some ?
hahahahaha was that a joke all of them would beat him
Yes......he is not as great as the Sugars before him but has had a great career.....and it is not even over if he can maybe beat Floyd someday shit that would put him back on top and lock him as and ATG.
Mosley has no boxing skill, just reflexes and experience. He doesn't know how to jab effectively, just kinda paws with the right hand to set up a right. He never impressed me with his technique, but his willingness to fight and strength were stuff you couldn't ignore. While he does have two wins over De La Hoya, those two fights essentially represent all that he's done this decade. I think he's an HOF, but not first ballot. I always thought of him as more a fan favorite than a great fighter.
It's all about who teaches you for learning boxing skills; Shane's father didn't do so well in the "technique" department.
Floyd Jr. had the fortune to have been trained by both his father and his uncle, quality fighters that over time learned how to become better boxers, passing down what they learned from their losses to Floyd Jr. to make him better...that's why Floyd is so dam good.
I really think that there only a handfull of excellent trainers, and maybe a dozen quality trainers...the rest are hacks who put a towel around their shoulders and hope they can get lucky with somebody who is naturally a freak of nature when it comes to athleticism.
all time great naw, 1-1 with de la hoya, lost 4 times to forrest n wright. beat vargas, dont sound to hall of fame 2 m3
So what, there are a number of "All time great" fighters that when they moved up in weight they lost.
If somebody that stays at one weight class their entire career can be called an "All time great", why should we think different of somebody that was undefeated and a machine at his original world championship weight, but decided to move up?
Mosley is a guy who got to the pinnacle of the sport behind the strength of his accomplishments as a lightweight. To be honest, he was never impressive at welterweight and up, except for the first DLH fight. I remember when people were saying he was unbeatable, and I knew immediately that Forrest was gonna beat the living shit out of him.

Two words: Scarlett Johansson
42 more: He had the ability to be an all time great but he's too old to take over the division now and his losses to Winky and Forrest wont help. Losing to ODLH in many people's eyes definitely doesn't help his cause either.
Agree agree agree. Mosley's a cool enough cat, a little stubborn in stampeding into those rematches although it probably would not have mattered. Felt bad for him until he got his money matches vs. Vargas. Mosley should retire soon and enjoy it as a great fighter, but not an all-time great.
Scarlett Johansson did well in {The Horse Whisperer} but i think she lacks depth in her rolls . I would like to see her move up and have about 5 films a year before i would call her an all time great . If she can beat out a Julia Roberts for a few rolls she moves into the top movie stars P4P.
Funniest thing I have heard in a while thanks for the laught, karma
