Bob Arum has now officially shaken off "the feds" and is not going to be indicted for the fights that he and his company, Top Rank, have fixed over the past 10-20 year period.
The majority of the investigation surrounded a fight involving some guy named Joey Torres, but the blatant fix in the DeLaHoya-Campas fight, where Campas' corner threw in the towel approximately 45 seconds after the "over" bet went thru, went completely ignored/unnoticed by "the feds", so Bob is temporarily off the hook....
So now Bob can get back to what he does best: fix fights!
My guess will be that Rock may get favorable judging vs. Maskaev.
WHat's your guess?
Rock should get some favortism. He is Arum's boy and defending the last Heavyweight belt left in the hands of the Americans and doing it on his home soil.
The home court advantage is quite true in boxing. When Lacy had to go overseas to fight Calzaghe, there was already a big mountain to climb before he even got there, same for anyone going into German Arthur Abraham territory, its part of the game.
