Timur Ibragimov WINS over Calvin Brock and possibly by KO

The problem with Brock is that he is not a murderous punching machine like Mike Tyson, he's not a blood-and-guts warrior like Evander Holyfield and he's not a relaxed, skillful technician like Lennox Lewis.
Calvin Brock "The Boxing Banker" — moniker Brock assumed in light of graduating from UNC-Charlotte; can seem to be sleepwalking through a fight and be unremittingly dull in the ring.
"I very well could have entered the business world," he says in a monotone.
For almost six rounds, in a fight being televised on pay-per-view, he did almost nothing. It made you wonder if there was truly any fire in his belly at all.
Brock's ascension to the top of the heavyweight ranks is indicative of his slow ring style- he might just be another Tony Tubbs.
Brock has made the ultimate mistake of looking past Ibragimov.
Timur Ibragimov has amateur experience of over 200 fights and has won 21 professional fights. :boxing:
Brock is knocking this fool out. I saw Timur fight a fat slob who weighed 260lbs and barely won by decision. Brock is 10lbs lighter than he was in his last fight, he's taking this fight very seriosuly
I don't know if you guys been reading the Timur interviews. He said he trained the hardest in his life for this fight. Brock just probably did his normal shit, and said that Timur is just another step overlooking him. Timur was great as an amateur, and he will beat Brock down to a UD. Then Brock will start with the excuse campaign saying he wasn't prepared well.
Brock is the only American heavyweight hopeful out there at the moment. If he blows this opportunity, it's going to be main events in Hamburg for quite a while. I hope he steps up where Guinn & Mesi were incapable.
Of course, there's Terry Smith, who's only loss was to Brock. He's taking on Jameel McCline in July....
Lamon Brewster might still be in the mix; but it sure would be nice to see Brock prove himself a worthy contender.
I hate these threads that have predictions presented as present-day fact in their titles... gives me a heart attack.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Brock being beat though. In fact, I'd welcome it - at least that way maybe HBO/Showtime/ESPN would stop chasing the next US heavyweight and start reporting seriously on the current status of the division.
"Eastern Europeans are never gonna make it" - whadda you know, James, you just bored us all with a lacklustre draw against Rahman.
I thought it was a good fight, and would like to see a rematch, personally.
Other than that, I agree, even though I can't stand the fact that the European guys are top over our American guys, but it's the way it is, and it should be reported as such. However, ESPN and the like don't do much on boxing to begin with so their opinions are essentially worthless to me. Except a guy like Max Kellerman, or a known voice in boxing, should they be working for one of the stations.
Brock wins this by KO. Timur has never been hurt you say? He will be tonight.. Along with Julio. Julio is going down by a left hand straight on the ropes.
