Who wins, how, and why? I still think this fight can happened in the next one. You know Chico would do it, so all Hatton has to do is step up to the plate.
He said the whole time that he wanted the winner of Chico-Castillo but I guess all that was talk and he really just meant that he only wanted Castillo because he hasnt mentioned Chico's name since then.
He wanted Castillo because he fights just like Hatton but Ricky new that he would be bigger, stronger, and faster then Castillo at 140. He doesnt want Chico because he has a difficult style and he knows that if he runs in on Chico with his chin 1st and hands down like he always does then he could get hurt.
He named all these fighters and he talked about how good he would still be at 140 but yet he's going to fight Urkal at 147? Either fight one of the guys you named, give Callazo the rematch, or move back down and fight Chico. Its pretty simple to me and no one is easier to make a fight with then Chico, and he would even go to England to fight him
I think Chico would stop Hatton. Chico is probably the best/most powerful at throwing short punches. Chico can fight from the outside decent & we all know that he can definitely fight from the inside which is where Hatton does his damage. Hatton is a good fighter but I think that Chico is a better inside fighter & the added weight would be better for him.
STOP dreaming. :p
If the bigger and stronger Collazo didn't stop Hatton after climbing up to 147, what makes you think that Chico can stop Hatton at his own weight class.
Simple analogy, separate the HYPES from the facts.
Dreaming is free anyway, so I guess you can go on and enjoy your dreams. :D
Agreed.
And anyone who wants to bet me on this fight, feel free. I will bet all my points on this fight. If you really think Chico would beat Hatton, then up step up to the table if this fight happens.
Who has the balls?
Where do I get? :D I don't have to get it anywhere. That's my observation. Yeah he Castillo fought in a phone booth, that was the first fight. On the second fight irregardless of the controversy on the weight issue, Castillo beat him up to the punch. On his winning effort against Popo, he was clearly being out boxed until he hit the guy with a solid shot that slowed Pop down. So if you're saying that Chico is fast, that's just your opinion do not impose that to me. :p
Yeah Hatton will fight a faster pace and therefore so will Chico. Yeah, up to the 12th round? :p
Chico has never been fast but he has lighting fast hands, so I take it thats what you meant. The PoPo fight was just who Chico is. He has never learned how to cut the ring off but when PoPo tired then Chico caught him with lighting fast puches.
Tszyu moves like a slow ass robot but has a lighting fast straight right. Chico is not going to be fast like a boxer in terms of movment but straight hand speed, he hasnt lost a step
Chico is already slow at 135 so it's a wishful thinking if you'll expect the guy to move faster at 140.
Hatton will be fighting at his natural weight class so I'm giving him all the advantages to take this fight.
Where do you get Chico is slower from? Again, I compare it to Floyd. Some people say that Floyd looks slower in certain fights but certain fights he fights differently. Against Zab, he fought at a slower pace and slowley walked him down. Against a guy like Margarito then Floyd would move fast in and out.
At 140 they said Floyd looked slow at the weight when he fought Bruseles but he slowly walked him down and that was his style for the fight. Then against Gatti he looked much faster because his game plan was to fight faster and move in and out.
Against Castillo, they fight in a phone booth, so its at a slowe pace but when he throws his combos its still fast.
Hatton will fight at a faster pace, and therfore so will Chico
I see Hatton going back to his mauling style he used on KT and just mug and bully Chico for most the fight and stop him past 10. This will not be as flashy a fight as Chico - JLC, Hatton will not allow clean inside punching.
A fun sounding fight that will turn out disappointingly one sided.
This is a close fight that is basiclly a toss up.
Chico would be powerful as all hell at a different weight class, and he can take some big shots as well.
Id say Chico Ud but id be rooting for Ricky.
He is some rules in boxing its like a rock/scissor/ paper thing.
A Swamrer beats a boxer, a boxer beats slugger and a slugger beats a swamer.
basically Hatton is a slugger and Chico is a puncher-boxer.
techincally speaking Chico would win by KO.
you basically proved yourself wrong in ur own statement. lol. In no way is hatton a slugger. Hes a swarmer all the way, applying in-humane amounts of pressure on his opponents. Guys like mayorga and freitas, now they are sluggers. hatton isnt

This would be a great fight that could go either way. Corrales' power would definitely be a major factor. If Hatton can handle it than I say he breaks Corrales down to a late stoppage. If Hatton can't handle it I say Corrales by mid to late stoppage.
i'm a diehard Corrales fan, but i think Hatton is too big and rough for Corrales.
i would be rooting all the way for Corrales but i think Hatton can get a win over Chico..........sad to say but i got to go with what i feel....
This would be a tough fight for me to watch, as they are both my favorite fighters. But i think hatton could pull of a win. When a fighter like hatton faces chico, hatton will take bad beatings but in short bursts. somewhat like the freitas fight.
But in the freitas fight, popo wore himself down a TON and top a bad beating on that ur gonna get KOed. Hatton has the best stamina in the sport right now IMO, and he wouldnt get exhousted.
And when chico fights inside fighters like this, his mocho-ness kicks in, and leans forward with his chin flappin in the breeze, and decided to fight his opponents fight. Thats what makes him such an exciting fighter, but its also his downfall. If hatton can stand up through 12 rounds, i think he will win a close decision.
But i doubt hatton could KO chico. I just dont see it. I think Hatton could KD chico from an awsome body shot, but i dont see a KO at all. Corrales has an amazing heart and will keep getting up.
Mind u, i can still see carrales winning, but i think hatton would win. Undoubtedy this fight would FOTY meterial. Pretty much any fight Hatton or Corrales can take right now has FOTY marked on it.
If corrales were to win, he could still fight hattons fight on the inside. Hed have to time hatton while on the ropes or get hatton in a corner and then take a step back and box him. If they go to the center of the ring, then Corrales must box from the outside and catch hatton with uppercuts or hooks while hatton jumps inside. He'll have to take some nast body shots to get them off, which takes quite a heart to pull off. Thats part of the reason why hatton is undefeated. If chico can pull all of this off, he will undoubtedly win!!
If u HONESTLY think that cotto could KO hatton, then u are definetly a big cotto fan or a complete idiot!!!
Hattons constant pressure and amazing chin/head movement wouldnt allow cotto to come close. Maybe if cotto was a southpaw i could reason with it. Cotto might be able to slip in a big left hook... IF HE WAS A SOUTHPAW!!!
If anyone gets KOed during that fight, it would be Cotto. And i think Hatton would KO cotto. Cotto isnt tough enough to handle extreme body work and doesnt have half to chin it takes to withstand multiple hatton left hooks!!
undoubtedly, this fight will be fight of the year material and would be a competitive, close, and wildly exciting fight until it ends, but i honestly dont see cotto winning if its at 140. IF hatton is used to 147 by his next fight, i dont even see cotto winning at that weight!
fukk man ... i know hatton likes to fight his fights ... but this one ... chico at 140 ... i dunno, that right hand or left hook, and he'd be punching down to whats basically a dwarf ... i REALLY like chicos chances in this one and the fact that chico can step back while reeling off a vicious left hook - i didn't vote for this one, but its not an easy fight for either fighter.
