The elite fighter aren't worried about belts anymore. A great fighter doesn't need a ton of hardware accompanying him to the ring. Most fighters can get their fights for a title if they want to anyway. If you're a big-name fighter and you want to carry a title belt - even if it's a Latino title, a Continental Americas title, an NABO - what ever - you can be fighting for a belt. It's funny - how often do you see a major fight card where neither guy has any belt as part of his entrance? Usually both guys have something...
I realize it makes it more complicated but at the same time I think one weight division should have only one title. All these titles confuse shit.
Yeah... One champion of the world for each division... Who would have thunk.
it's of no consequence... the WBC is on the line, Wright doesn't care about belts, he cares about fighting the big names.
Wright's saving around $200,000 by nay-saying the WBA, WBO titles... smart move IMO
btw, for the Taylor fans, i'm pretty sure the way it's working is if Taylor wins, he keeps his belts all the same, if he loses, the WBA and WBO titles then become vacant.
Fuck it, there's too many damn titles anyway.
This makes the picture more complicated.
Now there will be 2 titles floating around that shouldnt be because the orginizations are crooked and stripped the true champ of his title.
so that would mean if the WBA became vacant the titles went from being completely unified to being all split up cause of sanctioning fee's or wanting taylor to fight the IBF's mandatory
