Everyone is pointing each fighter's flaws, but how do we know if Steward corrected any of them or did something to counter them? Jermaine may have learned something. Do you think Steward has a significant impact on this fight for Taylor?
It has been said many times before...if there is a big fight Manny Steward is the man you want in the ring-the guy tells his fighters just how it is!
I believe Steward is a huge plus for Jermain Taylor...couple that with 24 rounds of boxing Mr. Technician and you have got a surpise ass whooping coming on June 17...Taylor wins easily!
I think what's being left out of this conversation is the fact that with only 6 weeks, it's not like Steward has/had ample time to really teach him everything.. it could hurt Taylor just as much as help him with the very LAST-MINUTE change (because that's what this was) (btw, saying Taylor wins easily is up for nomminee as dumbest comment of the year)
All the stuff Emmaunel is teaching Taylor will be great in the long run. But this will be the first time he will try it in a real fight... And against who?? Winky Wright lol.. Good Luck Taylor
3 Words....Quoted For Truth.
If he was going in against someone who is less of a technician than Winky I would see Taylor coming out in a clear victory but keep in mind who he's fighting. Winky beat Vargas although the record books shall always have him fucked for that one, he beat Mosley twice and he humuiliated Trinidad. What has Taylor done aside from getting 2 very narrow W's over Bernard Hopkins?
Winky was the biggest secret in boxing for years, promoters couldn't promote him because of his unusual moniker and fighters wouldn't touch him after they saw how horrible he made Vargas look.

I don't see how having Manny as his Trainer could do anything to hamper Taylor's abilities. Steward has a long history of training great champions and helping them win championship bouts. Not to mention the added fire Taylor must have from training at the legendary Kronk gym. Somehow I think a fighter gets more fired up if they're in a notorious gym than some shithole gym in Alabama.
manny is not taylor's new trainer. he is just an advisor.
Incorrect. Pat Burns has been asked to "sit this one out."
Steward will be in Taylor's corner this Saturday.

BTW-am I the only one who is tired of listeing to Buddy McGirt 1) talk about nothing useful in between rounds and 2) get far too much credit for his work...just an opinio but I think he is a bit overrated.
I agree.
Good points again, scap!
