He said this years ago....I am glad to see more love for Hopkins as a great fighter...and not so much focus on his style...I have personally always enjoy watching Hopkins...mainly because I love defensive and crafty fighters (Mayweather, Whitaker, Toney...etc)...but he got a lot of slack for the way he fights...but it is sure effective...and he can still speak and think when he retires...
Hopkins has been one of my favorite fighters. It's too bad to see that he's finally reaching the end of his career but it's better not to stick around too long.
WHICH IS WHY HE GOT KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT EARLY - TWICE- IN FIGHTS WITH LESSER OPPONENTS...RIGHT?
Yeah and what happend in the rematchs with both Rahman & Mcall?
Mcall had a Mid life Crisis in the center off the ring :D
Rahman got a total beat down and had a sleep in the center off the ring :D

its his style thats won him championships...its his defense that has kept him on his feet...the man is a great and he will reign in somebody'e top five all time....
i said it before i never found him as boring at all ;) winky on the other hand ;) . Hopkins was just hard to judge as far as all time middleweight greats but as far as just being a great fighter there is no argument
You know, he does have Tarver to thank for that. Tarver actually made people have to like Hopkins. It's very true when you think about it. Hopkins played this whole thing out perfect.
yup...just like Ali embedded the whole "The Greatest" in everyone's heads...Hopkins embedded how he is a true champ, did things his way for legacy
funny thing is that they both backed themselves up in their own ways
i do know wat u mean, and it is true. however, tarver only made him popular in this fight, but the whole hopkins legacy is wat will keep him known as one of the best middleweights ever, not one fight with tarver
There are some people, like me, who wasn't really a fan of Hopkins and hated his fighting style. We just wanted anyone to shut up Tarver. He would have still been an all-time great no matter if he won or lost that fight. But he won a lot more people over by winning this fight.
