lindell holmes v mike nunn in early 91 at 168
jeff harding v nigel benn in late 91 at 175
thomas hearns v mike mccallum in mid 91 at 175
roy jones v buster douglas at heavy between late 96 & early 98
ps
i like nunn, harding, hearns & rjj respectively. nunn quite simply the slickest s.o.b around pre toney & holmes 2 static, harding quite simply 2 big & strong for benn & durable enough to take his punch, hearns more filled out into 175 / mccallum 2 old 2 chase him if hearns boxes & moves, & rjj far too fast for an old buster.
mike would of outboxed and stopped tommy in the mid to late rounds, quite honestly mike was an absolute master of the art. some of mike's tools, such as left hook-duck or duck-left hook (or left hook-duck-left hook, or duck-left hook-duck), double up, switching upstairs to downstairs, body shot counters etc were some of the best we have ever seen and tommy relied more on youth, hunger and physical gifts. and tommy was fragile.
The main feature of McCallum's game in the late 80's and early 90's was pacing himself - for a reason! In his early to mid 30's, his legs were going. If Hearns took three steps back, for example, McCallum would have to take six steps forward. This would tire Mike out in eight or nine rounds, with Hearns finding him and getting him out of there.
I dont know about the others, i know about McCallum because he was supposed to be a great bodypuncher, Benn because of McClennan fight, never heard of the rest.
the other ppl arent important
michael nunn & nigel benn were'nt important ?? uhh dude every thing was set up for nunn & benn 2 be great rivals & take over boxin with multi million fights against each other (& 2 write off hearns/leonard/duran), order the mags from late 80s
damn, dude

nunn ud, too slick
benn ud, i think he could pull this off
mccallum ko hearns developed weak ribs at the higher weight classes and the body snatcher would do exactly that for a late tko
jones ud too fast with his hands and feet
anybody who think roy jones would beat buster dogulas is ignorant and needs to close their account...mcclaum would KO hearns..the other ppl arent important
Benn against Collins was possibly even worse than Tyson against McBride, you fool, but yes Jeff Harding was tough and determined but would of struggled to win a round against a super slugger in Benn : if Benn couldn't knock him out he'd of atleast stopped him on cuts
harding i think stops benn, just 2 big for him, accumulation of punches
Your Fooling Yourself If You Think Benn Would Of Stopped Jeff Harding, Jeff Harding Was One Of The Toughest Men To Ever Lace Them Up-even Tougher Than Jeff Fenech. Look What Happened To Benn When He Landed His Bombs On Collins Only To See That Collins Wasn't Going Anywhere-benn Caved In Ala Tyson.

Rod Douglas beat Benn up in 1985,Benns first and last defeat in the amateurs,he had Benn trapped on the ropes. Benn won the rematch a year later only because he floored Rod in 10-15 seconds and Rod wasnt able to shake off the effects. The ABA robbed Benn though of going to the Commonwealths because Rod wastheir boy.

1. Holmes vs Nunn....Nunn by boring ass UD.
2. Benn vs Harding...Nigel by brutal TKO in round 5...more than likely on cuts; but Jeff would be introduced to the canvas as well. His face would look like hamburger at the end.
3. Hearns vs McCallum at 175......McCallum by late TKO. Yup, I said it. The "Body Snatcher" was a helluva boxer and neither Hearns nor Leonard wanted anything to do with him, if they could help it. "Thank God he wasn't a big money fight" is probably what they thought. Mike was one tough customer.
4. Jones vs Douglas.....Roy by UD.
You guys are insane if you thought Roy wouldve beat Douglass. Do you know how long ago 96-98 is? This is a totally different Roy that fought Ruiz. His body wouldve not filled out at HW the same way back then. Douglass wouldve killed him and they know it, thats why it didnt happened
Benn was willing to fight guys like Andries and Harding because they were just like Barkley and DeWitt : stand up sluggers
I think Benn would of been too fast for those guys ( Andries, Harding ).

In essesnse i agree with you, but in my opinion, its tough to rule out Nigel in any case. I would put my money on Benn in that matchup.
Hearns McCallum is a toss up, and Mike could have slowed Hearns down if he worked to the body early.
