Now that I've seen Nikolay Val-u-mart fight...i think i WAS impressed. I was expecting a total freak show in the ring. Fortunately he is WAY more skilled than I had thought. He is no Lennox Lewis, or Klitscho (either), but he does have skills.
What pisses me off is this...This guy goes out and fights, and is winning (32 years old and 44-0 now) and has VERY limited skills, and then of course you have a guy like Audley Harrison with all the upside in the world and he wont fight, Id love to see both of them get in the ring and watch Val-u-mart end Audley "A Fraud" Harrison's career....
I have a feeling fight fans that this guy will run it to 50-0 before he takes a loss...His handlers will avoid the REAL big names (although are there any REAL big name heavies anyway?). He is 32 now, and needs 6 fights to hit the half a century mark. He is fighting at a clip of just over 3 fights per year so he will hit 50 at the ripe age of 34.
All I'm saying is that if this guy was SO bad even one of these tomato cans would have caught him by now...
Soda
i think valuevhas improveda little, now that he fights guys who atleast has a name.realy liked those combos he had whan beckwas close.
he needs to drop some lard so he can keep a higher pace.
but eventualy a pressure fighter (like brewster) will wear him down to the body and knock him out.
i would like him to fight peter and/ore brewster
watch this other clip i found of this dude bidenko just teeing off on valuev and not even fazing him

.....Valuev did what he had to do. Seemed like he clubbed him to death. Beck tried to take the fight to him to his credit. Is it me or does Valuev just not fight big like he should.
I know what you're talking about. He does use the stick, and pushes his opponent off balance; but if he came forward, one would think he'd be more effective....still, it's hard to argue with the results so far.

Beck, I'm sure, got the title shot through Don King, who has options on both he and Valuev. Question, though...what was the deal with Carl King at then end of round 2...no audio, here. Valuev looked to be letting his left hook to the body get a little low.
I think King was trying to ask that dude to sit down and he wasn't having any of it.
I think Beck was moving in on him and Valuev was hitting him before he meant to. Beck should not have been in that fight.
The Vidoz fight was much better. Valuev needs to step up the compitition. How did Beck get a title shot anyways?

Been good, bra. How 'bout yourself?
Valuev vs. Vidoz, eh? I'm willing to look into it at this point. That was the first time I'd seen any footage of the big guy; and, even though it was against Owen Beck, I was very impressed with his fluidity. His handspeed was much faster than I'd been told. He seems to take a pretty good punch, cause Beck cracked him a couple of times and he shook it off like nothing. No, Beck isn't a huge puncher; but any man over 200 catching you flush should do something.....course, as someone else has already said, Valuev does have a head as big as a buick. :)
Been good.
I just got this fight and I haven't watched it yet. The Vidoz fight is where I really started paying attention to him. When I watch this fight later I'll let you know which was better.
What's up K-DOGG? How ya been?
You guys really should look into getting hold of Valuev vs. Vidoz. That was a great fight IMO.

Sam Peter needs to fight this man now, he would destroy Nic imo.
It would be a interesting fight for sure. Peter has a lot of power. He likes to throw those wide swooping punches. The way to beat Valuev is the body.
