Hey guys,
I am still new around here, but I thought it was about time to start this thread, I would like to hear your honest views on this.
The topic is the Wladimir Klitschko fans.
He gets praised like the second coming. But he is very limited, in my opinion.
He lost to Ross Puritty, Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster fair and square. But the fans claim they were only lucky and would get brutalized in rematches. Then why on Earth doesn't Wlad rematch them? Let me take a guess: they are not worthy?!
Klitschko is good against hand-picked opponents like Castillo, Moli and Byrd - they are small and weak.
Klitschko was down 11 times in his career.
1 Panell - lucky shot.
1 Puritty - lucky that Klitschko ran out of gas.
4 Sanders - lucky, probably one of the greatest hitters in history.
1 Brewster - lucky Klitscko ran out of gas.
1 Williamson - lucky, was only the balance.
3 Peter - lucky, illegal blows (Wlad's holding and turning around of course had nothing to do with it).
I am not trying to be disrespectful. Klitschko is a good boxer and deserves to be champ now. But could YOU please calm down about him?
You do realize he rematched Brewster and handily beat the hell out of him before a sixth round stoppage?
Wladimir has taken on all comers and beaten them- ugly wins or not. And he does score knockouts. What more do you want? Hell he's almost tied Larry Holmes for title defenses. Some people are just too hard to please.

This was posted over 8 years ago but could have been posted today.

I know :lol1:
If people only knew that these posts had so much relevance 9 years later.
id actually like to see wlad fight briggs.. briggs is huge.. and wlad will finally meet someone his size if not bigger.. they both pack huge punches..
Lets go champ!
LMAO, I was thinking the same thing LOL. I don't remember anyone here refer to Klit as "the second coming" and I haven't seen a pro Klit thread in some time so...What the **** are ytou talking about lol.
This changed quickly.

but briggs hasnt been able to knockout let alone beat the top 15 guys while wlad has
Yea but not many praise Briggs. The huggers on this site act as if Wlad can split the atom with his right hand.
well jesus,,,if he beats a top 10 guy for once in his life he'll get praise but until then who's he legitimately beaten to deserve it?
You call Wladimir one dimensional and yet you describe Briggs as a "great fighter"? Briggs wouldn't last four rounds against Wlad.
Briggs Wlad would be interesting though, and it would probably go something like Lewis Briggs did. With Briggs rocking Wlad early and Wlads skill, power and gameplan taking over.
I think he often appears to be sort of one-dimensional and only effective due to his size.
I agree that in certian fights this appears to be the case, even if it is not necessarily true.
playa, I dont buy the whole Wald deal either...hell just a couple years ago he was screaming retirement but now now he is HW GOD....lol...please glass jaw..
screaming retirment?what are u talking bout homie???
its no secret klitscho wants brewster but brewsters eye is bad he cant fight sanders again because sanders retired and puritty is never heard of anymore

thats kind of a narrow minded thought isn't it? I posted a couple days back the Wlad has won a gold medal in the Olympics and a champion of two different belts at two different times and he wants to unify the HW division. Why he has so many haters, I don't know

The only heavyweight that is worthy of excuses.

I agree with your other points except for intellegence and technical skills. James Toney is an extremely sound fighter in terms of ring generalship and knowledge. He is also a very smart fighter.
James Toney in shape has a good shot against most heavy weights even though he should'nt even be in the division with is height and lack of power. But matched up against Klitch and I think Toney would lose, but not because Klitch is more intellegent or more technical.
Yes...
But notice I said the heavyweight division. The only part of Toney that belongs in ther is his stomack. Toney has not been able to "Dominate" as he promissed, nor will he be able to. I just can't see him beat guys like Wlad, Lyakhovich, and Valuev is just too huge for him...
and all like you said - size disadvantage. Toney does not belong with the HWs.
