i dont think hes as good as naz was naz had a wierd style of fighting and he was the p4p the hardest hitter in boxing till he met barrera. khan is a good fighter but will get exposed against higher opposition.
i know alot of asian ppl. they tell me things. i know the dude that had beef with his boys.
Now stop telling me the same things... Because firstly its boring and secondly its probably bullshit...
Hey did I ever tell you about that time my "boyz" had beef with Mike Tyson?
Amir has to tighten up his defence - in fact, he needs to get a defence - and hopefully his punch power will improve. He's got a great style for the amateurs - quick hands, accurate - but I'm not entirely convinced with him as a pro just yet. At the top level he's gonna need to be able to dissuade them with hurtful punches.
As to sticking his chin out, once you're in the ring you change into a different person, you have to. I think it's a macho thing that everyone has inside them - you get tagged and want to show you're not hurt straight away.
And Amir's character? I've met him a few times. He's very pleasent, mild mannered and accomodating. If he acts a bit macho around his mates - who doesnt!? I'd be cocky as fuck if I had Amir Khan's talent.
i think i worded the thread wrong theres nothing wrong with being arrogant but he was hardly fighting anyone good and i got the feeling he was gunna end up like naz possibly one of the greatest talents ever and him blowing it
I like it when fighters are arrogant - it creates hypse, which leads to more media for boxing, which is always good. People are always intrigued by drama, and arrogance is drama.
However, i dislike it when fighters are arrogant to the point where they are lazy. Ali was arrogant, but he trained hard. Mayweather is arrogant - but he trains hard.
Naz was slacking off in training and thus got what he deserved.
Good post....

NO LISTEN UP MATE. amir khan is a cockey cunt. i know. coz he acts too ruff with his boys. i know sum1 close that went school with him. and hes a twat.
trust me
Well done, you quoted me, and then said something completely unrelated to what I said...
LISTEN UP MATE. Amir Khan's reputation doesnt get dented by some forum f@g who goes by "word of mouth" about what he's really like in real life.
you loose respect cause he did a lil showboating?
dam hes a 19 year old kid (hes older than me that dont sound right)
with shit loads of talent and is ooizing in confidence and he cant do a lil showboating?
i bet if it was mayweather or sum you like tapping hes chin youd be jumping all over hes dick
the showboating was totally out of place in that fight...why show off against someone who everyone knows hasn't got a chance.
actually alot of successful boxers do it to try and show their opponents that they are not afraid ali naseem and baer all did it and it certainly helped psych out their opponents
Superficial similarity.
I hate people who "lose respect" for someone who show boats... thats a load of bullshit. You blatently just tune in to see that stuff...
I didn't in the interviews I've seen of him he seems ok, he has to be confident because he's got high expectations and lot's of money tied up in him. He also said he wasn't blind to the mistakes and downfalls of previous great talents in a interview I saw, I can't be mad at him for just doing a lil showboating. If I'm his team then yea because he could get tagged and jeopardize that "gravy train" but as a fan I'm fine with it. He showed respect to his opponent's in the 3 or 4 fight's I've seen of him, and said he know's that he'll have to stay focused and train hard. If he keeps that out look on thing's then he should be fine, I'm not annointing him the greatest yet either. He seems to have a lot of talent and the possibility of a good future.
