Ok I know this may be A very stupid question but how do you think a fight would end up with the pre queensbury bareknuckle fighters that fought for some stupid amount of rounds like 70 against someone of today. (sorry for any mistakes)
You'd be surprised by the endurance of some of those old timers. Ad Wolgast vs. Battling Nelson was a 40 round all action slugfest and it was a modern fight with gloves in 1910. Those old bareknuckle fights that went on for hours were probably fought at a slower pace than Wolgast-Nelson, but that doesn't meant that they were falling over each other, barely able to stand up. Those guys were just extremely strong individuals, mentally and physically, with constitutions far exceeding those of the average fighter today.
I still can't believe these guys went for so long. Unless they were so gassed that they could mount any kind of offense after about 10 rounds and that it was just a case of one of them collapsing from exhaustion.
well if it was just a fist fight who knows. Anyway I don't believe those old time fights, a real fight can not be maintained by a guy with good fitness levels for more than 10 or so minutes.
