The Heavy division could use a Heart Transplant these days to help get the Blood flowing again, and this news could just be the transplant needed.
According to a report out by Kevin Iole of The Las Vegas Review Journal, James Toney could be next for Wladimir Klitschko.
Kevin Iole reports that: manager Shelly Finkel said he's working on a fight for Klitschko against James Toney, probably Nov. 11 in New York.
If that fight doesn't come off Finkel said unbeaten Calvin Brock was also is in the mix.
Iole's report also states that Hasim Rahman, the WBC champ, would have been Klitschko's first choice for an opponent, but Rahman faces Oleg Maskaev on Aug. 12... a date that could easily conflict with a fight in Novemeber.
Old news but they even have a date scheduled now, news courtesy of maxboxing.com
i already tore him up for that stupid post on the last page. turns out you get called a ***got by this guy just for bringing a little bit of truth into the argument
lol great!
can't wait till he reads it then i'll be get called a name too
i'm brewing with anticipation
which slur will he use??
i can't wait
the only big thing toney is doing is reinforcing how pathetic the boxing system is
win a fight then lose the belt because of roids
so the win becomes not a win
get another shot at another title holder
come in too fat to balance yourself
get a draw
get another title shot
wtf is that

id like to see brock/wlad more than any other matchup of wlad vs non-champion. brock is a very good boxer, i was impressed by his abilities when he fought mccline and the KO of lawrence showed he has some power in his left. he is one of the few guys that can take a round against klitschko without knocking him down.
agree if wlad is going to fight a non-champ
it needs to be brock
Okay dumbass whatever you say, Toney didnt lose any of those fights did he? You simply put a common opponent(who got his ass whooped) into the mix when what im saying is for a former MW, Toney is doing big things in the HW division fighting wise, and after he fights (hopefully beats Wlad) his LEGACY will defintly be cemented as one of the best p4p fighters ever!

true, but of the 2 brock is more deserving
as long as he wins his next bout

but with brewster and sergei rematching, rahman fighting maskev and valuev fighting beck, wlad doesnt have many options.

That doesn't apply here as far as I am concerned.
Rahman is not on Klitschko's level as a fighter man, and you can't compare the two situations.
Rahman is a hesitant plodder who unleashes a right hand once every three rounds and throws a meaningless jab.
Klitschko is a boxer puncher who throws combinations every single round.
i agree with this statement
and i don't even like klit
right right, but do you think he took rahman serious coming in that big, or that he would just outbox him as he claims he did, i dont expect toney to underestimate Wlad as he did Rahman and becuz of it will give Wlad teh fight of his life! JUST WAIT
how do u know?
In toneys eyes he didint under estimate rahman? He just came in looking like crap and should have been knocked out, I dont know what rahman was thinking throwing only like 5 right hands in the fight after connectiong with a good in the 1st round...

if you go to boxrec and look up james toney and scroll down the page to his results you will see that he did not WIN against ruiz or rahman. anything but a win is a loss unless youre the champ already. maybe youre just the kind of person who thinks a tie is alright, but there are people with a lot more competitive spirit who hold themselves to high standards of achievement.
toney hasnt done a single big thing in the HW division fighting wise as you stated, thats fuckin hilarious. the only big things he brings are his fat rolls to the weigh in.
If Toney underestimated Rahman...who would take for him to get into shape to fight..Muhammad Ali? It doesn't matter anyway, no matter what condition he is in Wlad destroys him.
bad move for both of them. wlad should try to unify and toney should try to win an easier title if he even deserves another shot at this point.

I doubt very much he underestimated rahman. most experts felt it would be a difficult fight for him and it was the first big strong heavyweight he faced and it didnt go well for him. will only get worse if he fights wlad
just like he shocked the world vs rahman coming in at 260 lbs...

alot of people will sleep on Toney in this fight becuz of his Rahman performance, his size and what they think of Wlad but thats a big mistake Toney will shock the world

listen genius, it doesent make a good resume unless you win the fights... get it???
by your logic the best resumes in the division belong to guys like andy sample, marcus rhode and steve panell
i mean how can you deny it, panell fought ruiz, rahman, wklitschko, botha, mercer. what an awesome resume!!!!

and becuz of it we will see Toneys great defensive skills at work and honestly im kinda upset with him taking such a hard fight but that shows his heart and determination to be the best ruiz, Rahman and now Wlad thats a resume for a former MW

.....If this one comes off it will be Toney's farewell fight. He is going to cash in his chips with this one and roll off into the sunset after receiving the beating of a lifetime.
fading into obesian
