Alright guys...I need some help buying some equipment. I was challenged this weekend to a 4 round boxing match (back-yard style) with some fools at work. I got mouthguards and whatnot but I need some advice on gloves. I have 2 pairs of Century 16 OZ training gloves but I want new ones because last time I cracked someone good with a right hook, my wrist hurt. I have two options...the Everlast 2216 Pro Style Training Gloves or the Everlast 2966 Traditional Boxing Gloves...which should I use?! Amatuers please respond :)
Because I'm really not trying to severely hurt anyone...and If I'm quick in the 16oz gloves...I'll be faster with a lighter glove or bare fist!
You be a monster with 12oz gloves on. I'm not saying go hurt somebody on purpose, but every time you put gloves on for a fight you take that chance.
You want good dependable gloves? Than use Everlast 2212 Pro Style Training Gloves. I use them myself and there very reliable. There also 12oz. If your as big as you say you are. Than why the hell you using 16oz gloves?

If you want your wrists to stop hurting you're going to have to solve that limp wrist problem you have, by joining a real military force like the army. you can't spell lisp without the sp. haha Do your wrists hurt when you jab, if no then its that you have your wrists bent. also since I was you I'd wrap my wrists like trinidad. hey does the airforce have ametuer boxing. in the army we have "Smokers" the ametuer bouts, we also have post teams, and then the army team.
no, we have an air froce team but that is it. Nothing base related which sucks. We have softall and flag football and basketball...those are the main attractions.
jdizzle use 8 oz reyes glove and make sure ur socks are good
call urself "black thunder" or "superfly TNT"
also theres some good stuff in this boxing video i found set to "mama said knock you out" by ll cool j

blah blah blah...stop hy-jacking the thread for shock value...find a new disgusting avatar or something...leave the grown folks shit to the grown folks
Money is not my main objective...seriously. I'm young body wise though. I treat my body well and stay in shape. I don't care about the haters out there. I'm for thre focus. There is a MMA gym here that I was looking into also and am working with a guy in my sqaudron that competes and I know for a fact that I can fuck him up. He fights 'Tank Abbott' style and I still tke him
...and as for the nickname, I'm 1/2 native american...I'm sure I can come up with a tight nickname
Your a bit older indeed, I do not believe that she would be interested in working with you. No offense.
There are plenty of much easier ways to make much more money then fighting pro.

I'm 26 getting ready to turn 27 in July. I told you I was a bit older. I feel like I need to do something that interests me. I have been an avid boxing fan since I can remember. I don't need to go pro or expect it or anything but if that happens it happens. I dunno...I'm bored with my job and whatnot and need an activity besides working out in the gym in my free time. If I could find something to do and stay focused on, that would make me happy
Dizzle,
#1.You need Rockin to hook you up with a pair of those old school trunks
#2.You need a cool nickname(Rockin's taken)
How old are you and why do you want to fight?

Start with the jab finish with the jab.
If he's southpaw...throw a ton of straight right hands

What you're doing is illegal and a terrible role model for law biting citizens everywhere. Way to go, asshole.

HAHAHA...I usually do...I'm a little older than most but I was thinking of picking up organized fighting of some sort. I'm pretty quick and strong and need some extra $$$ if possible. I'm not joking but if you could tell me of some reputable boxing gyms neaar the Sac-town area I wuold appreciate it
No glove is going to help if your impacting with your wrist bent, even so slightly. Its all in the form when throwing the blow, proper motion, proper trajectory and proper positioning of the wrist.
Keep it bent and you could break it no matter what glove your wearing.

i appreciate the help...i did throw a right hook/hooker-cut that hurt my wrist...I'm gonna tape my shit this time. I did nock the last guy down though and he did outweigh me buy 10 lbs...I can't wait for this weekend!
If you hurt your wrist the what glove you where will matter little. Either you keep your wrist straight and firm or you bend it when you punch. Throw proper punches and your wrist will be fine. Going out and buying new gloves will just be a waste of money.

thanks for the help...the century gloves feel just a bit awkward,,,maybe a better quality glove could help?
and badblood throws down the gauntlet...
...because he's a fuckin nancy and only bets on sports because he is no good at actually participating in them.
