Oh ya, I also like to add, this guy will most likely build up a reputation for his body punching. Something alittle someone else we know of doesn't do as often. This guy RIPS those shots hard. Left and right hooks to the body. At 19 with body punches like that, he can only get better.
Ya I also believe he'll make a name for himself. Really I hate when people say, he's the next this or that. Like they say Cotto is the next Tito. Ok, so he's from the same country, that's for the line gets drawn. I know I'd hate to be called the next whatever because that sounds like your just a simple follower. These guys are fighting hard for themselves and want to have their own fanbase and following. They don't want to be looked in the same shadow of their countrymen that have achieved greater status. Let him build his own reputation up. Let Cotto be Cotto and Boom Boom be Boom Boom :D
i dont think he needs 2 losses to make him tougher hahahahaha!!!!! thats aint gonna happen unless he fight w/o dicsipline, or he get overconfident w/ his opponents. MAB had 43 - 0 before jr. jones
Yeah...everybody should have a least 2 losses early in their career to achieve Pacman status. :D
nowadays I am not really impressed by undefeated fighters ...
and i guess your right chups to accomplish pacman status a fighter must be reborn a few times like a phoenix ....
after each loss comes out better/stronger everytime ...
i don't mind seeing Boom Boom fight for a championship early ... whatever outcome it may be ...
he is young a loss even by a KO would be more of a learning experience for Rey to make him tougher ...
Woooow!! Boom Boom that kid will bloom 3 to 5 years from now. He got power, speed, and his pivoting move aroud the ring is getting nice. he's a boxer a stylish boxer. and with his height i have a feeling he can make it to light weight.
No doubt, but keep in mind the kid is only 19 and has 20 pro fights.
The good outweighs what he needs to work on by a landslide.
He essentially lives at the Wild Card gym. He's there all the time, and with Freddy watching out for him I think they'll take care of the growth he needs to do in those areas.
Hopefully Goldenboy will be good to him and bring him along at a propper pace.
If that all falls into place he's got the tools to be a great fighter.
Hopefully, they should treat him like a project, not just another cash cow. Top Rank's management of a young prospect named Miguel Cotto comes to mind, some criticize that he's bein overprotected, but look where he's at now.
he needs to work on his side-to-side head & body movement though and his D-Fense as well, it's on a high-guard, but still needs some tightening.

Yeah, i noticed that too. he has Tito's sprinter-like stance, bouncing on the balls of his feet, ready for a stiff jab, a left hook or a right straight...good balance and footwork. he needs to work on his side-to-side head & body movement though and his D-Fense as well, it's on a high-guard, but still needs some tightening.
Here some good action from some of his fights:

and check out the one in my sig.
For a prospect, he looks very good.
Nothing set in stone, but he has good footwork, good speed and excellent power in both hands.
He stalks his opponent in a wide stance a lot like Tito Trinidad, and looks to set up his left hook or right hand. He also shows very good patience for someone his age (19) and goes to the body very well. You don't see that a lot from fighters that age.
I have about 10 of his fights, and he's scored some violent KO's, sending several guys out on stretchers.
He needs to work on leaving himself open for counters, and needs to have his chin tested (was down a fight ago, but got up and fought back well).
There's nothing but positive attributes and with Freddy Roach as his trainer, he's only going to get better.
A good young prospect that has to be smartly-managed.
Don't rush him for a championship fight against Daniel Ponce de Leon, it's gonna be a big mistake. heck, he should stay at 118 and go after the big boys late next year...vs. Jhonny Gonzalez.
i saw him once it was his last fight, i think he looked good, i hope they dont rush him to reach pacman statis and ends up getting beat bad. like Vargas was pushed to try to reach ODLH stat and he got beat bad.
Too early to say, though after watching him beat the living shit outta Bonilla, I wanna see him again! This is actually the 4th fight I've seen of him and I'm impressed to a degree. He's a great brawler who throws knockout punches with every swing, though I never thought he had that much speed. Against Bonilla though he was throwing blinding hooks which surprised the heck outta me. No normal guy woulda been able to take those flush as Bonilla for the 3 rounds it lasted. He can use some defense tweaking especially when he leaves himself open during exchanges though I guess that's just his style. I love how he rips those left and right hooks to the body. They look painful in every fight. He does have heart and determination after being knocked down by that Mexican on one of those Solo Boxeo telecasts, and got back up to win the rest of the fight. Not to mention he wasn't scared to keep throwing either after getting knocked down. He'll be fine tuned within the next couple of years. He's only 19! No need to rush.
