I was born in England so i'm a huge Ricky Hatton fan but honestly, with his clinching style, i don't see him ever being a big PPV star in the US. he will always need another big name to make big dollars in the US. In Manchester, it's a different story.
I also think there is no way on earth DLH will choose Hatton for his last fight, he doesn't want his career to go out with a clinchfest
There is no way in hell boxing fans in the US would embrace a boxing style like Hatton's. Too much clinching, rabbit punching, wrestling, ect. He's a smaller, more energetic version of Ruiz.
I think a fight with gatti will automatically seal the deal on capturing his fan base. Hatton is already a star in his own right, there is nothing to stop him from establishing himself as such here but time.
I think Hatton should fight Gatti aswell, even tho Gatti is a warrior Hatton would find this fight alot easier than his past 3 fights.

I don't think he has to be a PPV star on his own yet. The match-ups will help significantly if he can get fights with Cotto, Gatti, Castillo, Corrales or PBF. Fight two of those and he's an American superstar if he wins them.
WIth a good win over a top rank fighter Hatton could become a PPV name. He allready has alot of buzz surounding him. I think he is an exciting fighter and his fight against Collazo was a good watch. He clinched but it wasnt over the top. When ricky would clinch up it was the only break in the action its not like that fight was slow paced or unwatchable.
Your right i havent seen ALL his fights but ive seen his fights against the sombodys in his resume, Tackie, Tszyu, and Collazo none of those were really the types of fights I would want to watch again.
Watch the Oliveira fight to see what Hatton's usually about.
HE DOENST CLINCH OFTEN. his opponents are usually afraid of his incredible inside attack so THEY usually initiate the clinch. And proven by almost all of his other fights, hatton can be an extremely exciting fighter to watch. the MOST exciting IMO. U saying his fights are ugly and boring just says to me and everyone else that u havent seen a lot of his fights. which is fine, but please watch him before u call him boring.
But trust me, when this guy puts on a show, its the best show on earth.

every white boxing fan inthe world would pay..lol..what r u talking about?...There is not alot of big ppv fighters out there right now but i would have to say Hatton would be in the top 3...oscar, Calzaghe, hatton are gonna be the big money fighters for ppv for a while it seems i wouldnt pay to see any others!
Ricky really is the clinchman and thus most fights against good opponents will probably be boring and ugly.

IF hatton shocks the world with a KO agaisnt carrales or castillo, i can see him making some good money in PPV.
I also see him being in some huge PPV pay days, but he would be fighting agaisnt the more popular fighter. I can see hatton being popular here in the states, but no where near what he is in england
He's a millionaire.
You are a thousandaire, at best. Does he care? Nope. He has already declared he could retire with the money he has made from boxing....
Good point, but i think that if he finds a fighter that complements his style, and maybe fights him a few time(like Gatti/Ward) then poeple will respect him like they do Gatti, i gotta say Hatton has alot of heart, and he's very entertaining, he jusy has to steer clear of fighter that will make him look bad(PBF).
