It's quite clear from watching the fight that Collazo was just as guilty as Ricky for Holding and clinching...I lost count of the amount of times Collazo got Ricky in a headlock..
His gameplan was obviously to get Hatton into a headlock whenever he came in close to punish the body.
we have an old saying..."6 of one, half dozen of the other".
he did that so hatton didnt head butt him, and it obviusly didnt work did you see the cut on his head???
thats Hatton going insane with the head, and just swinging it all over the place
ummm, that headbutt came from collazo. his head hit hatton right between the eyes. but in regards to the clinching they both used it as a means to work one another and neutralize. hatton tried to clinch and work inside and collazo clinched to neutralize hattons inside offense. pure and simple clinching is a strategy, and they both used it.

Styles make fights remember, Ricky's team always knew that a rangy southpaw like Collazo would give them problems on Ricky's first fight at 147.
I'll put it to you this way, on Ricky's WORST day in the ring (worst that I've seen anyway, and I've seen most of his fights), he still outworked and outboxed the WBA champion in his first fight at a higher weight. Not a bad worst night when you become a 2 weight world champion.
Next fight they'll be a different style match-up and so expect to see Ricky performing at his best with fast, precise body attacks and constant agression.
What kind of style does ricky need he clinched like crazy in his fight with tszyu also. (Boring fight).
also not a bad worst night when you are exposed and half the world thinks you lost.
Exposed as a 2 weight world champion, beating the WBA belt holder on his first fight at 147, maintaining his perfect record and only losing on the scorecards of people who can't score boxing. Yep, that's exposed!
Styles make fights, lets see who he beats next. Hopefully it'll be another one of your PR boys, Cotto.

That was teh worst Hatton has looked becaus ehe wasnt in there with some old guy he could just outwork. This was the first young decent fighter Hatton has fought. LMAO you see when Hatton was hurt he was jus walking towards Collazo with his hands practically down jus walking straight in for a clinch. That won't work with harder punchers thats for sure.

It does mattter because this is the excuse some people bring up to take Hattons victory away from him. First it was the punch stats, Hatton was shown to do better there so now the same people are bringing up clinching. Again they are being shown they are both guilty.
Admit it, the Clinchman Hatton was outclassed, although he won on points, he was not the better fighter at all. Collazo did everything better than him.
Face it, Hatton was exposed.

people have been talking bout the clinching all along. Lets say Hatton fought Mayweather and was outboxing him,LMAO!, and Mayweatehr kept hitting and clinching, holing and hitting. Clinching so much, pushing Hattons hea down to throw boy shots. You wouln't complain? You woulnt say he did to much clinching? You wouldnt say he fought dirty? Exactly. It would be a different story.
Collazo did clinch but not as much as Hatton, but anyway it doesn't matter the fight was close.

The thing I hated was all the hitting after a break... The ref hardly did anything about it and both fighters were doing it the whole fight... I thought that fight was poorly managed.

You can't be serious. Every time they got in close, Hatton was holding Collazo's right hand, and throwing punches.
lol and it was funny when Collazo clinched the few times he did Hatton would put his arms out and complain to the ref, like he wasnt clinching like crazy.

You have to be kidding, did you see how many times Collazo had his arms in the air to show he wasn't clinching???
The fight was very ugly the first 2 rounds and then the ref started stepping in a breaking the action more often fucking up Hattons plan of holding and punching as he usually does.I think Collazo just did what a fighter has to do when fighting Hatton.
Collazo did the headlock move so Ricky wouldnt sprong up and hit him and he didnt even do it more than 5 times. I have watched the fight anout 4 times and trust me Hatton does much more clinching. I dont care whatever i feel Collazo won but Hatton got the decision,ok i will get over it. But to say Collazo did just as much clinching is a lie. Yes he clinched a lil bit but not as much as Hatton come on now.
