that made you love boxing. For me it was Sugar Ray against Hit Man Hearns 1. I watched it with my dad and loved it. Great fight to watch for your first one.
clay-liston I.
"They might be stopping it! That might be all, ladies and gentlemen! Get up there Joe! Get up there! Get up in the ring!"
- Steve Ellis the announcer for the Cassius Clay-Sonny Liston I fight.
I just always loved boxing, but the i really liked the Trinidad-Blocker fight. I was only like 4 when i seen it but i just remember watching it and everybody in the room going crazy when Tito KO'd him.
Alot people might hate and not want to admit it.. but I think the coralles/castillo 1 was crazier than gatti/ward 1 and barrera/morales 1 that has to be one of the most amazing fights af all time!!!!!
I definetly agree. If ur in for action and pure clean punches, then id prolly say Micky Ward would suit that. BUt if ur into inside fighting, great mechanics and skills, fatastic reflexes and will power, and a great comeback to top it off, ull want to watch Carrales Castillo 1. That definetly made me start watching the sport like a religion, knowing that any fight could get fight of the year.
I used to watch FNF and WNF kinda on an off on basis. NOw i watch every time its on
the first fight i saw was on some boxing show where they replayed fights. NOT ESPN CLASSIC. but this black guy was kicking this small mexicans ass. Just owning. The mexican just stopped throwing punches. Then the black guy stand right in front of this mexican, raises his arms, trying to show off. rub in this guys face u know.
Then the mexican just winds up and KO's the guy. Knowing that a fight could just turn around like that did it for me. I knew the sport was gonna make me happy for years. cool fight. i believe i still have it on my comp.
Says unkown black guy VS unkown mexican. lol. ill see if i can upload it.
Ali vs Foreman got me into boxing, but Tyson Douglass got me really interested in more current boxing. I watched a bunch of fights, but it was Corrales v Castillo that got me to join this forum. Saw it live and it blew my mind.

the fight that made me start boxing was 2 Mexican guys fighting i dont know who they were but that was the fight in 2004
Was it Barrera-Morales III? For me, it was watching Muhammad Ali on ESPN Classic. He was such a lively character with so much charisma. He was arrogant and brash, but at the same time you could root for him. While I fell in love with the fighter more than any one particular fight, the Foreman fight and the 3rd Frazier fights were the fights that I became instantly addicted to.
barrera vs hamed was the fight that got me into becoming a serious fan.
that fight was one of my favorites
and it also gave me a favorite fighter, marco antonio barrera
I really didn't start getting in to the lighter weights until Lewis retired. Then it seemed most of the HW's got fat and boring. The lighter weights were showing up in shape and beating the shit out of each other. The fight that got me paying attention to the lighter weights was Gatti vs Ward 1.

Tyson sealed the deal for me. I watched Leonard vs Hearns 1, that got me interested, but I was young and still playing in the middle of the road. But when I got older, I will say Tyson sealed the deal.
